This is the real lampblack. Many sellers provide ground charcoal or the like, not good for my application. Actual lampblack has extremely fine carbon particles collected as soot. It's really quite difficult to obtain genuine lampblack, so I was pleased to receive this. Thanks Inoxia, whoever you are.

Well, its black and messy to handle but it was exactly what I needed and arrived two weeks before the promised delivery date.

Spot on

works very well to quantify and detect rat activity. When mixed with alcohol and painted on plastic tiles it can be used to clearly distinguish rodent markings. When allowed time to dry the solution is even waterproof (worked exceptionally well in atlantic tropical rainforest regions). Would recommend for other dissertation work.
