This is a mechanical timer for a ge washer, first one didn't work at all this is the second one and it fills and empty the water at the same time. I remember when GE was the best now it's a joke.

I wouldn't exactly give this 5 stars for quality, but if you have a washer that needs it, you need it :) And amazon's price is way better than the official GE parts site.It's super-easy to replace. Unplug the washer, use a nose-pliers to remove the clip that holds the knob on (if you just pull hard, you'll probably break it, I bet that's why other people bought those parts too!). Unscrew three 1/4" hex screws behind the front panel. Angle it away from the back and slide it to the right to unhook it from the bottom. Unscrew one screw holding the timer and unplug the big plug from it (there's a springy catch you have to squeeze. Replace with the new timer, reverse everything you did, done.

I'm sure it's a good timer but it was the wrong one for my machine.

This is the 3rd timer my washer has gone through. Its a pretty good washer. We are really rough with our washer. It goes through several washes every day of the week and sometimes into the night. You can tell when these timers start to go. They make loud clicks and a buzz during the cycles before they go. Replacement is easy. I had to run a small screw in from the front of the panel after breaking off one of the tabs that hold the timer in place. Not a big deal considering the age of the unit itself. When this washer finally gives up I won't complain. Its given me solid years of service. It's a GE zombie that still cleans...

Product is plastic and was shipped in an envelope. Broken and parts were unsnapped.

I replaced the timer in our washer one time and the replacement did not operate properly, the unit would not operate the drain pump before the spin cycle. The second replacement was not much betted so I just went out and bought a new washer. These timers are just not make very well.

The knob on my GE washing machine was spinning and not engaging with the timer. I was still able to select wash settings by moving the dial under the knob. Then if you pull out on the knob the cycle would start as normal. For anyone else with dealing with this issue I hope this helps. If you have already replaced the knob and it still spins, the timer shaft is worn and this is the part that you need. Fast shipping from Amazon, only about $20 more than purchasing a used timer on Ebay. Additionally the amazon pricing for a new timer at time of purchase was better than the big name appliance parts stores online. I can definitely recommend this product.
