Action feature in which Hulk Hogan plays a TV wrestling star who has to defend himself against a greedy promoter who wants him to change networks. When the spectacular success of wrestler Rip (Hogan) catches the eye of television executive Tom Brell (Kurt Fuller), it quickly becomes clear that the ruthless Brell will do whatever it takes to get his way.

a no holds barred action epic
This film is great i dont know how the two leads did not win any kind of film award for this masterpiece of film. For anyone who thinks hulk hogan can not act they must see this, even mega superstar tiny lister jr cannot compair to hogans amazing performance. i can only imagine that it was due to hollywood snobery that he was looked over for the oscar that year. Even though this is an action movie the script is up there with anything shakespear wrote, however you must remember that this is an action movie and as such you might want to keep the kids away. The fights in the film are very gory indeed, I would say they were up there with films like hostile and the Texas chainsaw massacre only with far more blood and guts. But if you can get past that you will find a classic masterpiece that you will enjoy time and time again. or until your old vcr chews up the tape.

MASTERPIECE OF A PERFORMANCE
MASTERPIECENever has a film been shot with such exuberant cinematography. The acting by famous theatre performer Sir Hulk Hogan is sublime. Also, Tiny Lister as the tragic figured ridden victim of the monobrow play as impressive mastodon of an agonist against sir Hogan. At the time of release this film was held as a Masterpiece which was only matched by Citizen Kane for best film ever made. Rosebud? No fellow, not for a man of sir Hogan stature. "Rip" and "Pookey" will be magical words passed down from generation to generation.

Not the best film but worth a watch I'll only watch once ...
Not the best film but worth a watch I'll only watch once and I have. It's one for the fans and it's a contrived plot. Not the worst film (That's inside out) but there are better

Cult favourite!
From a wrestling fan's point of view - this is a cult classic. I think this was WWE's (or WWF at that time) first foray into Hollywood at it was an average debut! I think it took almost 20yrs before WWE started producing movies. What was ironic to me is that the film was WWE's Hollywood version of rivals WCW. At least, that's how it looked to me!

They say you should never go back.....
They say you should never go back, well they are only partly right.... OK, being honest, this is not as good as my 8 year old self remembered.. Having said that... It's not bad. It's unrealistic, it's hammy. It is what it is. Accept that and it's kinda enjoyable.
