Ha! I caught these two turtles over and over again with this (and occasionally some blue crabs) Yes, definitely catches turtles, especially ones that like chicken!

Could this be used for crawfishing

I honestly am not sure. It's small. But even very small crabs (not yet legal keepers) can wiggle out of it when we pull it up. I don't think it would hold crawfish. But I don't know how large they get.

Dues it come with strings to pull it up?

Yes, it does. It comes with string, but it is flimsy. I would use a nylon string (burn both ends to prevent from splitting). This string is use to open and close the doors.

Could this be used for crawfishing

It works ok if you put a good chunk of bait in there and tie the doors shut. The holes are no bigger than the holes on chicken wire which a lot of folks use to make homemade crawfish traps.
