Excellent value and function - keeping all of those kids happy for a long plane flight
Belkin has produced a quality device that works exactly as you'd expect. Plug it into your iPad or any other audio source and it splits the signal 5 different ways. The splitter has a built-in male phono plug stub that you can use to plug into your music source. It will then permit you to connect up to 5 headphones to share the music. Indeed, I had my kids on their latest flight watching The Shaggy DA on my iPad while they use a 3 different noise canceling headphones and 2 different earbuds. Everybody had perfect sound and no scratchy-noise as can be typical with low quality audio products. Even better, the RockStar includes a second male-male phono cable, in case you want to plug in a second music source to swap back and forth or mix with the primary (of course, you'll be down to 4 headphones in that case). It's a high quality bright-green cable just like the one that is hard wired to the device. The device is lightweight and not likely to cause a problem hanging off of your phono jack. Being an engineer, I expected some loss of volume with 5 devices plugged in, but to be honest, it was barely noticeable. The iPad was able to provide a comfortable drive signal for all 5 devices. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking to share music or movies via headphones.

Best and most durable splitter I've bought
This is the fifth headphone splitter I've bought. The others all suffered from the same, unusable defect, they were crapola and broke. Worse the sound quality was crackly and very 1985 (remember listening to tapes with a walkman, yeah, that's the sound quality I'm talking about). I hook my cordless headphones in and then traipse around the house washing up, folding laundry, making beds (sometimes I do this) secure in the knowledge that the cord pluggy thing will not come undone from the techno starfish I've plugged it into. It has more ports (I think that's what they are called) than we really need, but it is still the most functional splitter. I love this, I can listen to a book on tape while my hubby watches a movie and my kiddo listens to music, all of us lost to the world for a little while. When this one wears out I'd order another lickity split!

Very convenient. Ups and downs.
First off you can't find many 5 way splitters out there (or at least i couldn't) and it is set-up very nicely. The price isn't too bad but shipping is a little too much. The sound quality of the Belkin is pretty good but the volumes of audio get greatly decreased with more going into the splitter, which isn't a big problem and you can just turn up any volumes you have, but still sort of downgrades some sound quality but not too much. I use this for doing in-ear headphone band practice since we can't afford to put together a PA system together right now, so it is a nice temporary fix for now. We run vocals, 2 guitars and sometimes bass through a mixer, then out through the headphone jack, into the splitter, then out to 3 or 4 sets of headphones. The drums don't need miking so we just leave them out of the mix but overall i am satisfied with this product but just wish there was a little more spunk to it like a volume control of some sort, but otherwise this thing is really useful and looks cool so i would recommend it! Especially for listening to an MP3 player or iPod with multiple people, i have also tried this too and it seemed to work just great!

Works great as a splitter, not so much as a joiner
If you're trying to split an audio signal into several sources, this will do the trick. If you're trying to pipe two or more audio signals into the same input (such as to the 'input' jack of a sound card), well... not so much. The problem is that the volume will drop significantly on one or more of the sources. But hey, can't hardly fault a device for not doing something that it was clearly not designed (or advertised) to do. As I understand it, finding a cable/adapter like this that acts as a 'joiner' instead of a splitter will not be possible without something that has an external power source. If anybody knows of an exception, please let me know. UPDATE: I have to amend my review and give this product 3 stars instead of 5, because I noticed that when I plugged more than 2 devices into it, I lose stereo sound on all ports. Since I normally only have two devices plugged into it anyway, this is not a huge deal for me, but is a minor annoyance on those rare occasions that I need to use a 3rd device.

Road Trip Companion!!
I love to take this on road trips with friends or whenever there is an outing. Being in today's day and age, iPods and music are an essential for travel. Friends always want to share music, but we were always limited to only a share between two people; yourself and one other. With this 5-way splitter, there could be a whole backseat of children listening in silence to the same song. It even comes with a short auxiliary cable as a bonus! The only problem I found with this is the sound quality. Though with each port being connected, the sound does not collectively reduce in quality, it does have an overall volume reduction in sound. Music seems to be softer. There seems to be less bass. This isn't a big issue for me because unless you are recording in a studio needing to hear high quality sound, this is a friendly gadget. You won't need to pay so close attention to details when you're just trying to listen to music with friends. Reduced volume for five people totally beats sharing earphones between two. Innovative product and highly recommended!

does the job, works as described; slight volume drop though when inputting more than one source, that's why a took off a star

イヤホンで音声共有が複数人でできるので使い勝手が良かったですが、コネクト部分が少し重たかったです。
