Protector of the Small 4 book set quartet Tamora Pierce First Test Page Squire Lady Knight

I thought I loved Alanna until I read this series. I started reading Tamora Pierce in the 90's as a child and now my daughter and I read these together. We both enjoyed them. Many aspects can be compared to the Song of the Lioness series, but this character is different and surprising. I enjoy the strong female lead character, and that's really what I enjoy about Tamora's books. We all need reassurance and to know we are not alone. That we are strong, and capable of much more. And we can do it with an imagination and humor.

The books are good. There's no doubt from me that they would be. My rating is based on the condition of the books. Half were fine. The third book in the series however, titled Squire, somehow had tears in the middle of some of the pages, and at the bottom, and the spine was nearly separated from the first 20-30 or so pages as well as being torn near the top of the spine. Similar damages could be found on the last book in the series, Lady Knight. I wouldn't blame the seller for the damages, but if they are getting the books room a sub-par dealer, then I would suggest buying elsewhere. I expected a brand new product. I tend to keep my books in great condition, but sadly cannot do so with these.

Tamora Pierce does a great job portraying female heroes for her readers. Highly, highly recommend these for middle grade readers, and enjoyed reading them again: a good book is a good book!

This is my second favorite series from Tamora Pierce. The only one that is better is the Becca Cooper trilogy. The books themselves are great no box for the set but they are well made and the binding is great. No damage was caused during shipping and other than I don't care for the cover art for this edition it is great.

Love her series.always good, great for middle school and a little earlier, loved as a kid and still read as an adult. Keladry is a brave plucky girl determined to make her way as a knight in a male dominated world. She gets some amazing mentors and fights bullies wherever she finds them

So happy to have almost all of the books of my favorite series in my collection now!
