Good Product for the Price (4-1/2 stars)
Pros - Great Price - Easy to Assemble - Great Looks Cons - Not as Sturdy as I would have liked I bought this to replace my pool chemical box that was probably 16 years old and had seen better days (it came with the house). My lawn crew had eaten a couple of holes in the corner with the weed eater, so it was time to replace it. I searched many different products and did not want to spend $300+, so I settled on this container for its price and aesthetics. When I received the box I was surprised by its light weight. All of the parts were there and carefully packaged. I highly recommend studying the instructions COMPLETELY before assembling. The instructions are nothing but pictures with only a few cautionary notes. They kept saying to use a rubber mallet, but I just used my hands to snap/pop it all together. While putting it together I was concerned that the box was not very sturdy, but as I finished up I saw that it was better than I originally believed. Assembly time was less than 45 minutes and I had no help. If you use a drill to drive the screws, make sure that you do NOT over-tighten the screws. I has mine set to release on a scale of 3 out of 10 and still stripped 2 or 3 screws. I found that if it is on a flat surface it is pretty stable and strong. If it is not on a flat surface the box will get wonky and the top not lay flat. I do not recommend sitting on the top hinged lid. The lid is still a little too flexible for my taste, so only lift it from the middle. The piston hinges work very well, but I am sure that eventually the chlorine will corrode them up as was the case with the previous box. Because it needs the flat surface, I bought three 8-foot cedar 2x4's and cut them to build a frame (55-1/2" x 26") with an longitudinal center board to support to bottom of the box. If you are not going to set this on flat cement, then I highly recommend building this frame. After placing it on the ground and leveling (very important), I secured the box to the frame with screws and large washers along the center board at the bottom of the box. The frame raises the box up off the ground and hopefully will protect it from the weed eater. I do plan on mounting aluminum plates to the frame at the corners for protecting the wood from the weed eater. All in all, a good buy.

This is a great buy!
If you take the assembly slowly and carefully - using your brain - despite the terrible instructions and pictures it is very easy to put together. It would be easier with two, but I did it fine by butting it up to the side of the house to hold the lid up while I attached it. Once together it is quite lovely. Looks fancy and way more expensive than it is. The 120-gallon one is super spacious and watertight. I am going to spray inside and out with natural anti-rodent and wasp spray just to be sure, but I am excited to not have to replace stuff next season because it's been eaten or otherwise ruined by either the weather or living pests. The damper lid hinges are the icing on the cake. It's super sturdy and can be used as extra seating. Highly recommend.

Attractive, roomy & strong. Lots of uses for storage & can be used as a bench for two.
We had a dilemma of having to schlep heavy crates of firewood up the stairs during the winter. Our house is built on a downward slope front-to-back, and our firewood lean-to is on the back of the house. We have to either go down the stairs from our back deck to get firewood, or go all the way from the front of the house, down the east side yard and to the backyard to get wood. So it was either design and build a box out of expensive lumber, or think of something else. Me being an outside-the-box thinker since I was a kid (notorious for successfully using tools & items for purposes they were not designed), I thought a deck box would do the trick while being used for its intended purpose during the rest of the year. I selected this box because it was built to also be used as a bench, or for pool maintenance product storage, etc., so it would be strong. If I could have given it 4.5 stars I would. A half star off for not being quite as easy to assemble as I had figured. But it comes with 3 steel “U” bars for added strength. Two for the top of the box lengthwise and one for the lid. Be sure you always open and close the lid from the center, otherwise it tends to bind. No idea yet how many days worth of wood & kindling it holds, but there is quite a bit of room in the 120 gallon version. We made a divider out of wood to separate the kindling. It would’ve been nice if they were provided. Folks using this for cushions would appreciate such a feature. But we do appreciate that it was designed to accommodate dividers with the provided brackets & floor notches. As for locking, it will only keep honest people honest. The two metal pieces are small & thin and are secured by screws into the plastic. As for protection from weather, I would say it would protect the contents from all but a driving rain. It is possible strong wind could lift the lid a bit, so if it isn’t locked, be sure to put a weight on it. Otherwise I would say the protection would be great. The lid closes securely due to its weight. Unlike some other deck boxes, this one comes with two recessed handles that will make moving easier. I recommend you do this with two people at the ends, moving it any other way could lead to torquing the structure. Guys, don’t insist on moving or lifting it by yourself just because you can. It may seem light, but it’s bulky & awkward. Just let your wife or girlfriend take the other end. The handles make it easy. Overall, I would say this is a well-made product. It is designed with a faux-wood finish that we found is attractive enough in black that we can have it indoors during the winter. Just be sure, if you use it for the same purpose, that you do not keep it too close to the fireplace! And if you are in the desert Southwest, do not get it in black or you may have cushions encased in molten plastic! Regardless, items should be kept in the shade whenever possible during the hotter months. I cannot vouch for its heat resistance.

Solid Large Box With a lid that's not going to fly off anytime soon!
First let me say I enjoyed putting this in my yard. Looks solid and robust and was easy to assemble. Having the gas lifts is a plus as they help open it and more important, keep it closed in windy conditions. Just the right amount of pressure at the right place. The only thing I will be adding is an 'under the lid' storage slot or something like that. Since the lid is strong enough to sit on, the underside is vast and begging to hold some small tools like pruners or other common used items. Catch it on sale and the value really shines.

Nice box, but a little quality control... please
It's a nice-looking deck box. It snaps together easily enough, much like other resin storage boxes. A couple of the panels were flimsy, but have more integrity once the box is assembled. I picked this 80 gallon box based on the positive reviews and its ideal size for my space. The downside: screw holes do not match up to the piston hinges. I was only able to sink 1 of 3 screws into the lower bracket once the upper hinge segment was attached to the lid. Seems like it will hold firmly without the additional screws....for now. I also have 2 Keter boxes (120+ gallon) on the property that had precise hinge fittings and snapped together to form a more rigid unit.

Spacious and Weatherproof, Assembly Easier with two
I purchased the 120-gallon outdoor storage container and I’m very happy with it. Assembly was manageable solo, but I’d recommend having a second person to make it easier. Once put together, it’s exactly what I needed—plenty of weatherproof storage for my patio. It’s sturdy, spacious, and keeps everything protected from the elements. Great product, just plan for a bit of effort during setup.

Almost perfect storage box
Great size, the lid stays open when putting items inside but closes easily, the cost was reasonable, it was easy to put together and love that it is waterproof because of recent flooding here in FL. I would have given it a 5 star rating but the left rear corner of the lid was cracked when we opened the box and a piece broke off but since it is covered by a cushion and is being used indoors for storage it is less work to just repair it than to send it back for replacement.
