I have iPhone 16 Pro and I had been searching for a wireless solution for my Sony Head unit XAV-AX1000, I tried another wireless CarPlay adapter here from Amazon and it worked about 50% meaning I could not hear Siri when I asked her something. I plugged in they Carlin Kit adapter and "wa-la" it worked for everything in CarPlay so if you are searching for a solution for your head unit I would say give it a try especially if it a Sony radio.

The connection is great. Amazing boot up time and very little to no lag at all! I had an early model years ago from a different company and i couldn't stand the lag. Really glad i made the upgrade

I have a Subaru with CarPlay. I thought I could clean up my installation with this unit. It works, I have no issue with that.My main use for CarPlay is listening to podcasts, and I really want to use the car's forward and back buttons to skip through commercials. That functionality is very slow. It works but takes seconds to process. I was about to give up on this unit, but realized I like how I can get in the car and have CarPlay for short trips without thinking about plugging in my phone. My trade off, I still have my wired option (I like how my phone is in in a mag safe mount in front of a vent so it doesn't get hot on long trips) that I use if I'm driving long way, but it connects automatically on every short trip.So reviews that talk about how there is no lag might be right in some functions, but when the car's buttons talk to this unit and it sends commands to the phone, there is a lag that almost made me want to return it.

I've tried about 4 other adapters and they have all been very unsatisfactory, between their slow and unreliable connections, and their large size, etc, just awful and so I stuck with wired.This adapter is convenient with the stick approach (instead of corded), which works well for my Tucson, and the speed and connectivity is excellent. I have zero lag, not a bit. So happy. And, call quality is clear as well.My only minor gripe is that there are zero instructions at all. Here is how you use it.1) plug it in2) connect to it via WiFi AND Bluetooth (you may need to forget your car's bluetooth connection or wifi). I believe it requires both WiFi and Bluetooth to work. This is after experimenting with turning off WiFi and while it worked, it didn't reconnect upon starting up again until I used WiFI also.3) pair it and authorize contacts (if you want) and authorize CarPlay.That seems to be it.

I've tried a few CarPlay adapters and will say that of them all, this one was the most responsive which I appreciated. The issue with this adapter is that intermittently (1 of 4 uses), the screen on my head unit just goes completely black. It's almost as if the USB adapter just locks up. Removing the adapter and reconnecting it usually resolves the issue but it's annoying to have to keep doing that. For this reason I had to stop using it. I love the design though, just wish it was more reliable.

After reading so many negative comments about these devices, I had waited and never purchased. All I can say is WOW. Wish I had bought when first purchased the car. It works better than cars that have wireless CarPlay built in. Super fast connection and works seamlessly. This might be the best $50ish investment you can make in your car. The convenience is unbeatable.
