This was very easy to install in the PS4. I now have additional storage capacity and the PS4 runs much quicker. Very happy with this purchase. The reason I got this was because the PS4 kept reporting a storage error and needed to rebuild its database requesting that I delete games and then reinstall them. It was doing it constantly and some of the games were huge file sizes to download. I tried everything online I could think of to remedy the situation and finally came down to the last solution by replacing the drive. Oddly I received the error a few times after installing, but after running the PS4 a few times after the install, the errors have gone away and have not come back. Not sure if it just needed to rebuild content on the drive or clear out a cache somewhere. Note that when you put the new drive into the PS4 you will need to follow a process for using a thumb drive to initializing the drive with the latest firmware.

I got this as a replacement for my PS4 Pro when the original HDD finally crashed after 6 years. Games load MUCH faster and the "Now Loading" screens hardly even pop up. The difference was night and day. Even the overall system menus and such, which I'd gotten used to lagging over time, are noticeably faster. Loading the OS onto the disk was also very easy (PS website gives instructions that are incredibly simple). I wish I'd done this upgrade years ago, and my only regret now is that I got 1 TB instead of 2 TB like I'd been considering. Maybe I still will. This product was very cost-effective, and I was able to get it the very same day I ordered it. Those were the primary reasons for this specific purchase, since I wasn't entirely sure if the disk was the issue, and this was the quickest to deliver per lowest price overall. I'd recommend this for anyone considering swapping out their old HDD, and this particular brand absolutely delivers! If I do go with the 2 TB drive, it'll be this brand I buy from.

Needed a replacement hard drive when the upgraded hard drive I had attached to my son's PS4 several years ago suddenly died. Rather than replace it with another big, bulky standard HD, I purchased this 1Tb solid state drive to fit in the original HD bay on the PS4. It fit perfectly, didn't need to be formatted, that I'm aware of, and accepted all game data that was backed up on the cloud and restored once the PS4 OS and updates were downloaded. Good, solid drive and outstanding performance.

Excellent for the price

This is really a 3.5 star overall review, but decided to round up because second attempt worked. Just some quick background information, I build and repair my own devices. I have done so for almost 20 years. I can assemble a gaming tower in my sleep. I'd like to think I'm fairly competent at building rigs. Good thing too, because I had problems. The first drive ordered came from Phoenix, AZ and didn't even register at all in Windows10. Not the initial USB test, and not after the hard install. Thankfully, Amazon sent a replacement before I could even return the first. Second drive came from Baltimore, MD. That failed the external USB test, but registered after the hard install. Just one problem, it wasn't showing in Windows but I could see it in DOS. That meant a conflict somewhere. Sure enough, I had to manually assign a drive letter in Disk Management. Did that, boom, problem solved. I doubled my storage space to help alleviate my primary Samsung SSD drive. I suppose you get what you pay for in this case, but the value is good and is about comparable to the Samsung drive of same size for much less. I hope my experience helps you with your troubleshooting issues if you're in need of a secondary drive. UPDATE: Now almost six months later, this drive became my internal storage. No issues whatsoever and still just as zippy as the day I bought it. I'll give back the half star I knocked off earlier.

My Ps4 kept saying all my games were corrupted and would have to constantly delete them and reinstall all of them, and was super laggy until it would close the application but after buying and installing this,, all my problems were solved! This is a great product for Ps4

Installed the SSD on a 1st gen PS4. Very easy process. Just make sure you download the complete Re-install version (Further down on the Update page) on Playstation's website otherwise you will get an error code. Download eta went from 18hrs to 2hrs for GTA 5.

Worked perfectly. I used this SSD hard drive to replace a bad sata drive in a PS4. It fit just fine in the hard drive carrier. Downloaded the Playstation 4 factory build software file and installed from a USB drive. I had no issues and went from 1TB to 2TB of storage.
