I'm really disappointed that your history of the US section does not include anything about slavery or even a vocabulary item of "slave". How could you leave this part of American history out?

This is a very valuable resource for teachers of students who have recently come from another country. It covers many science and social studies topics and includes vocabulary study and writing activities.

Excellent for students that are monolingual. I have been using for years.

best basic book for ESL students

This is a a wonderful resource for teaching English vocabulary to those new to the English language. I like to use it one-on-one while tutoring.

Received a Spanish/English Dictionary, but the product information says "English" Dictionary.

I am an ESL teacher and this is a great resource. The book is organized by topics with individual pictures of each of the words. There is an additional larger picture for the topic with the words in context that can be used for discussion. They also have short exercises to get students to use the words or to cover certain grammar points. I use it along with the Oxford Picture Dictionary Workbook which gives additional exercises. The book covers topics in social studies, science and math. I was really pleased to find this book as it is very useful.
