Great Pump
I bought this pump for my dinghy. Before I could install the pump, we had some heavy rain. I went down to my boat to check on it, my boat was ok. walking down the dock I spotted three dinghy's about ready to sink.I had a small Motorcycle battery and hooked it to the pump and was able to get the water out of the sinking dinghy's. Each dinghy had about 40 gallons + of water. This pump worked great.

Great bilge pump replacement! Automatic and Manual Override modes +
Great bilge pump - replaced an 8-year-old Rule-a-matic 500 gph bilge pump with a separate automatic float switch. This unit was the size of the previous float switch alone, so it's very compact. Owning a 18' center console means I don't have a ton of room in the transom, so gaining space is a serious pro for this pump. While the pump is turned on, it is no louder than my livewell pumps, just a slight whirring sound. You definitely won't hear it while underway, as long as it is under a cover or in a separate compartment. For those in a similar situation and replacing a bilge pump and separate automatic float switch yourself - wiring is very simple. Wire the red/brownish to the positive red coming from the boat, and the black with the ground black as well. Now, the automatic float switch should have two identical wires coming out of it; tie the brown/white wire to the two of those wires so it is a three way intersection; this completes the circuit and allows the pump to turn on automatically when its internal float switch is engaged. You can still manually override it from your switch at the console/driver's seat.Remember to remove the small foam cube from inside the unit, this will come out once you remove the bottom blue base off of the unit. The bottom blue base also has three screw holes to mount directly into your old screw holes from your old bilge; simply mount the base and then click/snap in the bilge pump on top of it.For anyone wondering, the water output tube is about 1-1.25", I used a 1.25" connector and it gave it a little bit of play.Great product and I recommend it!

Pumps well and works as expected!
I am using this bilge pump as a backup sump pump. I verified that this bilge pump's water flow for my setup is 300 gallons/minute (less than the 1100 GPM maximum). Not bad considering I have this pumping through a spring loaded backflow preventer, 3' of 3/4" diameter hose, 55' of 1 1/4" diameter PVC pipe with 6 elbows, and 5 feet vertical height. I have tested the auto switch more than 20 times without any issues. It automatically turns on at 1 3/4" water level and automatically turns off at 1" water level. Per the instructions, there must not be any water in the line or the pump will not prime itself and will not pump water which is true in my case. Therefore, I had to put a small hole in the top of the double thick bike inner tube connecting this pump's output to the backflow preventer and wrapped the inner tube connection with clear soda bottle plastic with a cutout to leave the air escape. It bleeds the air perfectly and when the water starts to flow, the inner tube expands to the plastic covering and minimizes water leakage through the small air vent hole which would not be a big deal if it did leak some.

It pumps but need to make more stable
Does pump well but the base should be wider or should glue down since the pump always flips on side. Base not heavy enough

Faulty description
Had to return it. Description shows 3/4" outlet, but it actually has 1 1/8" outlet. Would not fit the 3/4" hose on my boat. Return was quick and easy

Great pump for larger than 24' boats with 1 inch bildge hoses
If you have a smaller boat with a less than 1 inch bildge hose do not buy. Unable to find an reducer from 1 inch exhaust on pump to 3/4 on boat. Will have to replace exhaust port and hose in order to use the pump. Pump works great with correct hoses.
