Meat. It's whats for dinner
My husband is a HUGE hunter! He goes every year and is always looking for tips/tricks. Not only does this book have alot of really delicious recipes but it also has a lot of other great information about butchering and smoking as well. I sometimes don't know what type of recipes to make and tend to use the same 5 over and over. Now thanks to this book I can make tons of yummy meals and not get bored! He really enjoys the extra information about not only wild game but fishing! This is an all around great book with alot of information for even advanced hunters. The cover is appealing and the book has pictures too which I like.

Uses junk food ingredients like dextrose, soy protein concentrate, sodium nitrate...
If you're looking for a cleaner source of meat than the commercial meat industry provides, as well as preparing it in cleaner, more healthy ways, the recipes in this book may disappoint you. With ingredients like dextrose, soy protein concentrate, and sodium nitrate, you might as well buy and eat commercial hot dogs.Curing does not require nitrates, pink salt, or salt peter (potassium nitrate). People have cured meats for thousands of years without those ingredients. All you need is a good quality sea salt or natural rock salt. All thecuring experts in places like Italy know this to be true, and DO NOT use chemicals in their cures. Consider that the best prosciutto is always prepared with only salt and no nitrates or other junk.

I love hunting but have always been fairly crude when it ...
Very informative book, I love hunting but have always been fairly crude when it comes to this side of it. I have always been a, gut it, quarter it and send it to a butcher. Hopefully with the help of this book I can take my game up a notch and start doing a lot more of my own butchering and treating.

Great guide for beginning hunters
As a person just getting into hunting I found this book to be very informative as how to cut, what to cut and all the tools you'll need vs what is a commodity to get the job done.Lots of big full colored quality pictures with clear anatomy of specific animals. Pretty clear directions and lots of handy tips like how to remove pelts intact or ways to cook and store. Really great guide.

This book is wonderfully informative and practical
I don't hunt, but live in an area where hunting is a widespread hobby. This book is wonderfully informative and practical. I came away with a much greater appreciation for the work and skill needed to use the meat. That said, I also have greater appreciation for the convenience of being able to buy grocery store meat with confidence it has been handled properly so that it is wholesome.

A must read for any hunter/chef
I’m from the UK so hunting is very limited and the opportunities for hunting are small but the knowledge contained here has opened my mind and hopefully will come in handy when I travel to Canada in the future . A fantastic tomb of knowledge I’d like to put to use ❤️👍.

Has good info on pretty much everything about butchering game, and recipes for them as well. A very thorough book, including info on the various diseases and parasites that might be encountered and how to circumnavigate these, as well as anatomy drawings etc. This is an American book - I don't think I'll be using the recipe for stuffed opossum any time soon - but still very relevant and detailed with scientific info on oxidization of meat etc.

An Excellent Book. Great For Even Experienced Hunters!
I bought this as a Christmas present for my dad and while I wasn't sure he would like it, turns out he does. Even though he's fairly familiar with hunting techniques etc, he's really happy with the book and I spect he'll get lots of use out of it.
