Bought this for my hip after my hip replacement surgery. Works wonders! Soft, comfortable, durable condition, good quality!

I had a hip replacement and this ice pack is great for icing! We are rotating 3 of them to give them time to refreeze between applications. The straps really help to hold the pack securely where it needs to be. Haven’t tried using them as heat treatment yet, but that will come.

On the plus side: the ice pack is large, and stays cold for a long time. On the minus side: the straps that come with the ice pack aren't strong enough to keep the pack in place while a person is standing; the company's statement, "...you can actually walk around with this and it stays in place!" is nonsense.. I use a baseball belt, instead of the provided strap, to secure the top part. However, because of the pack's weight, the belt rides up instead of staying on the pack. The same thing happens with the bottom part. To fix this: vertically, both loops should be in slightly from the edge OR there should be additional loops, top and bottom, in the middle horizontally.

This is a very nice ice pack. I recently had hip surgery and needed an ice pack for when I’m on the go. It freezes within an hour/ hour and a half and stays cold for about the same time maybe a little longer. When it’s very frozen it can be stiff, but only takes about 10 minutes to soften up. At first I couldn’t understand the thigh strap, but you have to wrap the strap the opposite way you would think. It is double sided Velcro so I put a piece of fabric over the top so my clothes wouldn’t get caught on it. The size it perfect for me I’m 5’4” around 180 lb, but the straps are very long! The fabric under neath is very soft. Another plus, it fits under my brace. I was worried it wouldn’t, but it’s perfect. I would suggest putting it on first and then a brace. The reason I give it a 4 star. It produces a frost on top which then will make anything you have over it wet. I had to set a designated hand towel with it so I had something protecting my clothes/blankets. Overall it’s a nice ice pack, it freezes fast and works well. I would recommend it.

It was exactly what I needed I wish it was a little bit larger but it got the job done!!! Nice material and right after surgery it was better than what the hospital offered… m

My wife had hip replacement surgery and we got this to help with icing the area per doctor’s instructions. It is easy for one person to put on themselves and wear while walking. It stayed cold for about 35-45 minutes and longer if it isn’t a hot day. It worked really well and stayed in place. It wasn’t too heavy or put pressure on the incision. It was flexible and durable, though I didn’t put it through anything other than walking and resting. The size was perfect for her. She is 5’4 and 125 pounds. Highly recommend.

I carefully reviewed several ice packs for hips. I didn’t want one too big as I didn’t need it to fit far down my leg, but rather just around my hip joint area. I also didn’t want it to be too bulky. The straps are nice and long and easy to arrange around waist and thigh to keep it secure. I can use it while sitting, laying or even standing as I do the dishes. The bag to store it in freezer is a bit small so I keep it in a 2 Gall zip lock bag in the freezer. It stays cold for a good amount of time while using it. ( I have not tried or needed it for use heated.) Love this ice pack!!!

These work perfectly for icing a hip replacement but would work for many areas. Stays cold for longer than you need to do the job. Very versatile! I bought two so he would always have one ready to go but not sure I needed to. Happy with the purchase!!
