My favourite drumsticks, period
Ever since I discovered these sticks 7 or 8 years ago, I've used no other sticks. They are perfect for the high energy, yet jazz based music that I play with The Jive Aces. I've used them on all recent albums including KING OF THE SWINGERS. The thing that sets them apart from any other stick is (in addition to the superior quality of Vic Firth sticks) is the long taper, meaning you can hit dinky little rimshots near the tip and much louder ones (akin to a 5A, which is what I previously used) half way down. They give you a much wider range than with a 5A. Utterly essential for my playing, I would not consider using anything else.

Great length if you like longer sticks.
Like most drummers I’ve tried a myriad of sticks. I’ve settled on these because I prefer a longer stick and the AJ3 at 16” is perfect for me. It isn’t too heavy and the diameter sits just right in my hand. The great Ralph Salmins introduced me to this series, he uses the AJ2 which I find a little too thick. Although they are marketed as a “Jazz” stick they stand up very well to hard hits and rim shots but I’m not a hard hitter. Best avoided by rock or metal drummers 😁

For me, the best sticks
I play jazz and funk and these sticks are the best. Thinner lighter sticks enable me to play nice 'n fast rather than nice 'n sleazy.Update in Feb 2025: I'm on my 6th pair of these now and they're excellent and long lasting. The only reason they wear down is from hours and hours of practice.

No more complaints from your bass player
Perfect for those of us who love very light and thin sticks. These are the lightest and thinnest sticks I could fine on amazon and are very good for jazz.Particularly useful in small rooms, because they allow you to play quietly effectively, as to not drown out your band.

Clean, responsive and fast.
Really like these sticks. Little weightier than the AJ5, which feel slightly too thin for me. Very responsive and good for faster jazz ride patterns. I would normally play either Vic Firth HD4 or Vater Manhattan 7A, but these are my new 'go to' stick. Lighter than the others and simply do what I ask of them. They feel quick and clean, if that makes sense? (I play predominantly funk, jazz and electronica.) Well worth a try in my opinion if you have a lighter touch and want expressiveness, clarity and speed.
