Rubie's Men's The Hobbit Gandalf Costume

Great costume. Bought it as a goof for a surprise LOTR party and I don’t think my buddy is ever going to take it off.

I read other reviews and was a bit concerned about the hat before I ordered it. Yes it is made of a foam fabric and is not high quality but I didn't want to spend a lot. I thought it was fine. I took it out of the package right away and stuffed it with some tissue paper and let it sit for a few days . This took out the wrinkles. When my son wore it I left a couple of pieces of tissue in it so it kept its shaped. It looked great. He got lots of compliments ( went to comic con) it was fine and I'd buy it again. The robe was good and overall I was pretty happy ( and so was he) with it. I'd purchase again for sure.

Gandalf's hat is huge, even for a 7' tall wizard. The hat they give you is this tiny foam hat that maybe cost $1 to make in the factory and it barely fits on my head.But the robe is nice and thick and pretty long for a 6' tall person. The long sleeves are nice. There is a cheap cotton brown belt also.That's it. The hair and beard is not included. Sold separately (which I bought ofc because Im already this far it)

The whole costume (I got the beard, wig, costume and Gandalf's staff), worked great.It looks and feels nice. And yes, it is warm ... so I would suggest wearing a dark grey t-shirt and shorts underneath; and the whole thing made me hot, I often lowered my beard too. Also the materials are synthetic/ man made, so they do not breather well either.Lastly, you are paying under $50 for a costume, this is great for the price.Do not expect natural materials (like wool, leather belt etc.). If you really want a nice costume, then you are looking at $150-$200 with the nice woolen hat (Oh I would love that).

Item gave me a terrible full body rash that lasted 3.5 days. Never have been more itchy and stressed in my life. Considered going to the ER, but just toughed it out. Thankfully it just cleared up after a while and a lot of anti-itch cream.If it did not give me a rash, would have given it 4 stars. It's cheap, but looks rather nice. Keeps you warm as well.So yeah, if you have sensitive skin, or are allergic to whatever they treated this polyester with, be warned. You too could get a full body rash.Note, this only gave me a rash at first on where I had skin contact with the robe. And only after a few hours of contact.Then when I put my clothing into the laundry which were worn with the robe, the fibers/chems from the robe mixed in the wash. This spread to all my clothing and when I wore them, full body rash happened a few hours later. Note, I did not put the robe into the wash since its handwash only. Still, the fibers are loose from this outfit, and spread amongst my other clothing while wearing said robe. Honestly still a bit worried to even touch my contaminated clothing, and its been a few weeks.So, 1/5 for terrible rash. If no rash, 4/5.

I was looking for a basic Gandalf costume and this is great for the money. 2 days after i ordered/when it arrived, the price went from $38 to $14.95 so i feel like i definitely should have waited. The material of the robe is textured on the outside and soft like a soft tshirt on the inside, so it is very comfortable to wear. The included hat is nothing to brag about. I will probably end up buying a separate hat since this one feels a bit too cheap and looks cheap. I am 5'9 and this fits perfectly for my arm and leg length.

Hat is garbage and we bought another one but the robe is very authentic Gandalf. You could try stuffing the hat with newspaper to make it stand up but it doesn't even match the robe in fabric or color. The robe is like a tweed and the hat is cheap nylon. Buy it just for the robe but order another hat.
