Good Cheapo Welder
The welder works good. Makes nice welds and feeds smooth. It is a budget unit so no frills, doesnt do anything other than thinner steel, and is messy (some slag and a little splatter). It runs on regular 120V (20A). Ive done some light work on a 15A circuit, without issues. It is portable, and can run on a smaller generator which makes it even more portable. This is a rebranded Auto Arc Toolmate 100, the same as they sell at Tractor Supply, with a different label. I am assuming it is made by one of the many ITW companies. ITW owns Hobart Brothers and Miller, but this welder is neither of those. It is far less! Yet, it is still just fine for a cheapo.Added March 2019:Ive welded a bunch of stuff since my purchase in December. The welder has continued to work nicely. It's a flux, so it is messy and welds hot (easy to burn through thin steel). Messy means extra time with the grinder (wire brush and flap disk). Preventing burn through just takes some improved technique. This machine definitely has its place and I am very happy with the purchase.Added April 2019:Wire stopped feeding at the end of March. I contacted Hobart and they advised me to go to the local repair shop. The shop was busy and I was going out of town so they didnt look at right away. It was ready in two weeks and is back to working like new. No cost to me. I have a couple no-name imports and I am dreading the day one of them breaks, minimum $70 for shipping and warranty work.

Great welder
My first welder and I am very impressed. Seems well built and very easy to use. My welds are horrible but that is due to lack of experience but I could see getting very good with this machine.

Love this welder I am so happy I got it
I'm no pro. I messed around with lots of welders. I am amazed with this Hobart. It's truly amazing. I love it... my welds look professional. I didn't even try. It does it so easily. Wish I had it a year ago. My projects would be even better.

Works good
Likes; works good, dislikes; cheap ground clamp with meltable plastic grips and it's so quiet you don't know if it's on or off, no light or oversized fan to let you know it's on.

Good for the money
Did what I needed it to do. Good little machine.I didn't realize how much smoke flux core wire made.Sold it and going to buy the Handler 140. I do most of my work indoors and I think the 140 will be a better fit .

Cant give this enough stars
Easy to learn this on youtube, and it changed my life... Cant find a bolt? Weld it on! Want a trailer but cant afford one, Weld one up out of stolen stop sign poles! I'm unstoppable.. I can even get welds that are comparable to some mig or tig welders! I got a set of galvanized roofing panels and cut them up and welded a freakin GARDEN BOX. $16 dollars for a 7 foot diameter garden box.... if you're thinking about it, just do it. buy the welder. That being said, I've owned this for 2 years, built steel gates, installed a few roll bars, done countless exhaust modifications and repairs, replaced a floor in a jeep (big floor) even fixed a lawn mower. its easily paid for itself 10 times over, and all that said, I don;t have a shed to stor it in, so I leave it outside rain, sleet sun or snow.... never had an issue, aside from the trigger getting wet sometimes, but easy to take apart and blow it out.

Bang for $$
Bought for portable use and small projects. Have welded up to 1/4” plate with no issues. Good investment, my 14yr old kid has also mastered it and is running some very good beads and solid welds. Have no issues so far, very happy with it.
