100% Shih Tzu Repellent!
I purchased these mats because I knew they would be god-awful to step on while barefoot.Yes, you read that right. I knew that if they were awful for my tough feet to step on while barefoot, they'd be even worse for my tender-pawed Shih Tzus to step on. Yes, you read that right as well. "Why?" you may ask... because my adorable little princesses insist on ruining every rug I've ever purchased by using them as their new favorite potty spot (and yes, they have a doggie door, they're just too lazy to use it.) I knew that if I purchased something uncomfortable to step on, they'd avoid it like the plague and actually use their doggie door.IT WORKED.Although these mats aren't pretty, they're functional: heavy-duty, and 100% Shih Tzu repellent. I now have mats in my kitchen like a normal person and I never have to worry about stepping on a "present" someone left me during the night.Besides, I've kind of gotten used to the pain of stepping on these things barefoot... I think of it as an acupressure mat to ease my stress after a long day of cleaning up after my iRobot Roomba who destroys everything in his path (but that's another review for another day.)100% recommend! (The mats, not the Roomba. ;) )

Cushy comfort, no moisture retention, it's "RINGS" around the old mat
My neighbors and I had had a problem with the coir doormat on the front porch we share. Once it got wet, fuhgeddabout it--it stayed damp for days. Eventually, we lifted a corner of it and found creepy crawly things had taken up residence underneath, in the nice moist haven created by the retention of every raindrop which ever fell on it. We did not want a microenvironment favorable to creepy crawly things on the porch, because we did not want them taking the next step and moving in with us. So, while my neighbors were on vacation, I purchased this very cushy mat and put it on the porch. They arrived back home today, and even in their jet lag stupor, they DID notice the new mat. They DID agree that it is very cushy and delicious to stand on, and that its open ring design and non-absorbant rubber construction will allow it to dry out between rain storms and therefore not become the residence of creepy crawly things. They loved it, and so do I.

Wonderful mat especially in combination with a polypropylene mat.
There are good things about living next to largest man made lake east of the Mississippi and bad things. One of the bad things is the dust and dirt that gets tracked in to the house. Trust me I would not leave for the world, but it’s bad enough that I made a small 10’ x 8’ landing in front of the front porch. The landing was beneficial, but then I needed a mat - a big one. However I didn’t want the mat to blow away - so something that wasn’t solid. I looked a wrought iron but they weren’t big enough, I looked at reprocessed rubber but aside from being sort of ugly it was going to take a month to get one that was 30 x 60 or larger. Amazon suggested this mat and I wasn’t sure it would work, but the 1/2” thickness (for weight$ and holes (prevents the wind uplift) looked promising. I went and looked at probably 20 other mats and then came upon this one again — the second time I noticed the raised bibs and so I thought I would give it a try.It looks better that I imagined, and the 30x60 Mat weighs 20+ pounds. And the shoe cleaning capability is off the chart - and it self cleans when it rains. We had an inch of rain and 10 to 20 mile an hour winds the other day and the mat didn’t move an inch. And unlike the normal polypropylene mat with drain channels this mat works to clean feet wet or dry. The polypropylene mat on the porch then can remove the moisture and stays more or less clean. That is the problem because half the time when it is dry I feel like we pick some dust off the mat.I am incredibly pleased so far. One concern I had is that it might be slick if frost or rain was on the mat. This morning we had our first hard freeze and the nibs ensure solid footing.

Super outdoor mat
Super outdoor mat. We already have a couple of these at entrances to the house. This one is by the door to the workshop and sits on gravel. The dirt from shoes washes down with the rain, and it always looks nice. Also, the surface of the gravel is a bit uneven and on a slope. The mat rests gently on it all and looks great!

Well priced anti-fatigue mat that handles chairs well
This mat has worked well as an anti-fatigue mat for my office stand up desk. I particularly like that allows for a chair to be used on it. The design of the mat gives it a reasonable level of cushion. What you can not see from the description is that the bottom of the mat is a honeycomb of holes that create the cushion instead of an internal layer of foam. This construction makes it durable enough for me to switch to sitting on my drafting stool for a while without lasting indentations. I have used a stand up desk at a couple different employers over the past decade and this mat has been a great find for the level of comfort, durability and price. The mat is easy to clean but I wish it came in a couple more attractive colors so they blended with the office decor.

Not good for commercial kitchens!
This is not suitable for a restaurant kitchen! It marks up the floors and peoples shoes when you walk on it and gets tracked all over the restaurant. Less than a month of use and one has a large crack down the middle. Also they dont like down flat as the edges curl up and become a tripping hazard. We had to turn them upside down because people were tripping on them all the time. I have used many drainage mats in the kitchen and these are the worst I've ever used!

Nice mats, but they do not interlock very well ...
Nice mats, but they do not interlock very well so they are not very level when connected. I got 9 pieces to have a 9' X 9' section. High spots at most of the connections/seams. I tried to tap down with rubber mallet and stand on, etc, but just do not lock in most sections. Contacted company and was told to send pictures which I did and never heard from them again.

good size quality mat
I bought this mat because of the thickness for one thing. I built a new deck and the step from the deck into my enclosed porch was about 1/2" to 1" lower than what I had before. This mat is 1/2" thick. It seems to be of good quality. The holes are of a decent size to stop debris from collecting on the mat. Actually I wasn't sure which side is the top and which is the bottom. I bet this mat will last a long time. My feet have a good grip on the mat even when I walk on it with loafers on that don't have heels. I'd buy another one if I need one.

Durable
We are using this for our glass cooktop cover. Works great! Nice and heavy so it stays put.
