Cheap co2 that works
This is a passive co2 system. You will not see microbubbles of co2 diffusing. The CO2 is dissolved into the water column. If you have a smaller tank (20 gal or less) this is a good system to boost slow growing plants without a large investment.

These little tanks last about a 3-4 weeks when used right. there a bit pricey but well worth it to have reliable CO2 and healthy plants

If you fill the plastic reservoir once a day one canister will last the better part of a year. Fill it in the morning and then at the end of the day and you're still looking at 5 or 6 months. The plants do really well, the tanks are inexpensive, the whole system is great.

Lasts a few weeks when used properly.
I got this on my 20 gallon and 5 gallon. Both last 3 weeks or more with each cartridge. I fill up the chambers 2-3 times a day. I am not sure how everyone else is using these, but they arent meant for drop check systems, but for passive systems.

Buy it once, shame on you. Buy it twice, shame on me.
These contain CO2, yes, but even for my extremely modest purposes - a 1.8 gallon shrimp tank with CO2 on only with the lights ~7-8 hours a day - this is hugely cost-ineffective. Each one lasts me a bit more than 2 weeks & I still haven't figured out what to do with the old cartridges! I just emptied a cartridge today actually and happened to have an extra Fluval 45g CO2 cartridge, which fits perfectly. I've read you can find cheap CO2 cartridges to replace these at bike or gun shops.

These CO2 refills are wonderful. My plants are thriving. I can hardly keep up with them. I wanted to see what the difference would be between non-CO2 supported aquarium and one with. This product has allowed me to see the difference. Now I know that I can support my smaller tanks with this product while I look into investing in non-disposable for the larger tanks.
