Works, I checked it out in a glass of ice water, pressed up against ice, and it stayed at 32. Seems to be made well. Small but easy enough to read. If you need reading glasses to read a book you will probably need them to read the temp. For what you get the price is reasonable.

Works as advertised. Dial is easy to read. Like that it has a storage tube. Would buy again.

Large quick read dial (no battery required!) and easy to wipe clean. Has 'holster' with pocket clip for quick temperature checks. Works with liquid or as a meat thermometer.

This thermometer takes about 5 seconds to get a reading and seems accurate compared to my other thermometers when in boiling water. I find it very readable and the lack of electronics and batteries is a plus when you want something to just work out of the drawer.

I'm shocked that others are not complaining about these. I ordered two of them and BOTH are not calibrated right and therefore, are useless. Also, the temperature changes dependent on how deep the device is placed. Sadly, I did not check them within 30 days of purchase so I'm stuck.
