Very fast with the Thunderbolt option. Very small, comes with nice rubber protector and the metal case for holding everything is nice

Review for SABRENT Rocket XTRM Plus 4TB Thunderbolt 3 Portable SSD The external hard drive works well with my MacBook Pro. I haven't measured its transfer speed, but it seems fast enough. I use it for Time Machine backups of my Mac.

Even after reformatting it and trying different cables from the one provided, it maxed out at 40MB/s during transfers. I don't know if it's bad quality control or what, but this thing sucks.

This drive is extremely fast with the thunderbolt 3 interface. I was getting a bit under advertised speeds especially at a consistent write. The drive also gets very hot under load, too hot to touch i'm sure it would burn you for any extended exposure. Seems a bit pricey for the given storage capacity, competitors like Sandisk have some offerings at half the price and same capacity, given they are slower under sustained writes. With that said, it worked well overall and has a solid build quality.

I bought one of these 4-5 years ago and it is still going strong. It gets warm, but never too hot. This new one comes with a removable silicon cover and is said to have performance improvements too. All going well after a week's use
