How does this monitor cycle sound when it's in split screen? Does it auto-cycle which room you hear? Or do you have to manually toggle between rooms?

When in split screen, you can cycle the audio between rooms by pushing the video toggle button on the face of the monitor. It also has an audio scan function that you activate by holding that same button down for like 3 seconds. I think it rotates audio about every 15 seconds.

Is it possible to turn the picture off while the monitor is plugged in?

Yes, the picture can be turned off and still hear the volume. This works in single screen and split screen view and when using the audio scan function.

Can I connect two display monitors to the one camera?

No, the cameras won't let no more than one monitor to connect.
