I’m not the cook in my house, but I got this as a gift for my honey. (Lucky me, Huh?) The book isn’t marketed as a DASH diet cookbook, but most of the recipes are DASH diet friendly which is what hooked me. So if your doc has recommended the DASH diet or you want to avoid/control blood pressure issues, this is a great cookbook! It’s better and much more beautiful than what is marketed under the DASH diet. I choose recipes and make weekly grocery lists from this book, so we are constantly trying new things and also making our favorites over and over again. About 50% of our dinners come from this book right now. There’s nothing too wild, but it definitely gets us to try things we wouldn’t come up with on our own. One of my photos is of the roasted salmon with avocado and grapefruit salsa. We eat salmon at least once a week but would never have prepared that ourselves. I found it in the “winter” section. The book is organized by season so it will help you to choose dishes based on seasonal ingredients, even if you don’t have that committed to memory. I’ve gifted this book to friends. You really can’t go wrong.

A cookbook collection staple!
As the other reviewers have noted, this is an excellent cookbook with fairly healthy, delicious recipes. I bought this cookbook about 3 months ago, and my husband and I have made our way through about half of it. There is literally not a single bad recipe in this book, and in fact, my husband has even liked many of the fish and vegetarian recipes, which is impressive given that he is your typical steak and potatoes kind of guy (for instance, the black bean tacos are AMAZING, and he and I both loved them). It has a great mix of styles of food and definitely provides something for everyone. The pictures give a great idea of what the final product looks like, the recipes are easy to follow and quick to make, and the ingredients are all easily found in any grocery store. I have tons of cookbooks, and I have never come across a single one that I like as much. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking for fast, fresh, and easy weeknight meals.

What you would expect.
There is nothing wrong with this book. If you make an informed purchase you will get what you expect. The recipes, in general, are well thought out, quick, healthy, and flavorful. There is nothing ground brake here though. You sacrifice some gourmet component in the interest of convenience. Some recipes may be better served with more common ingredients. If you don't shop specifically for this book or for exotic ingredients on a regular basis, do not depend on using it to whip up a last minute meal. I did, however, like this book enough to send a copy to my parents.

Lots of good recipes
Needed inspiration for easier meals to prep during the week. This book ticks those boxes & has many recipes I looking forward to trying. It’s organized by season which is nice because you can plan based upon the vegetables or fruits you have in season.

A Life Saver
All I can say is wow. Since my wife and I have had our first child about a year and a half ago we have made probably every recipe in this book. We love almost all of them (taste is of course subjective, so not every recipe will please everyone). The recipes are truly very fast to make (most in a half hour or less) and are healthy and delicious. We eat better now than we ever did before and it takes us less time than ever to make dinner. This book is truly a life saver.

The title says it all
To get away from processed: 'frozen, canned, boxed food items', should be everyones goal. This book has so many quick, easy and tasty recipes ,with the big bonus of a picture for every single dish! Looking at the picture of the dish beforehand helps me a great deal to decide, if i want to try out the recipe....and it speeds up with making my weekly menu!The recipes are all fairly quick to cook, prep time however depends on the cooks speed. This is one of my most used cookbooks!

We use this frequently.
Bought this because myself and my other half wanted to start actually using our kitchen and cooking. Everything we've tried so far has been tasty. The recipes aren't complicated and they really don't take a lot of time, so I'd say this is a good cookbook for busy people or those that don't want to spend hours with complicated recipes.

A wonderful and inspiring cookbook
This cookbook is filled with such beautiful photographs - each of which is an inspiration to try the accompanying recipe. I have already tried a number of the recipes, and I love the way they allow you to create a healthy interesting meal, even when you are busy. I also love how the recipes are tied to what is fresh and available each season. A wonderful cookbook.

very good ideas and simple recipes for weeknights
Since I work full time, I was searching for ideas to cook things that does not take long to prepare. This book contains easy recipes based on seasonal ingredients.
