XL 27 Cup Water Filter Pitcher, 1 Brita Plus Filter, Ultramax, Black

I love this. And it really tastes great. I was a little skeptical about it. I have had it for two weeks and oh my, the water tastes amazing. My tap water reeks of chlorine. I used to buy plastic bottled water but micro plastics and waste was a little bit of concern. I gave this a try and I am glad I did. I am not going back to hauling huge cases of water at the store and have tons of empty plastic bottles. This is simple and very affordable. The quality is top. No damage at all. Simple to clean and fits great in my fridge. I am still amazed how this little filter gets rid of that nasty chlorine taste. You wont be disappointed if you buy this little but mighty filtration equipment. I am not in any way compensated for this review. I am an ordinary person.

I live in an area with very hard water, so finding a good water filter has always been important. The Brita UltraMax 27-Cup Water Dispenser has been a fantastic solution. This dispenser holds a large amount of water perfect for a household of 2–4 people)and fits nicely on the countertop or in the fridge. The BritaPlus filter does a great job reducing chlorine, taste, and odor even with our hard water. The water tastes noticeably cleaner and fresher. I love the easy to pour with the spigot, slim design doesn’t take up too much space and the filter lasts a long time (I replace mine every 2–3 months) Overall, this is one of the best water dispensers I’ve used. If you have hard water and want great-tasting water without buying bottled water, this is a solid investment.

I have used this for about a month and I am glad I purchased. We got tired of buying bottled water and having to store the extra bottles, etc. We also tried a water machine, but having to constantly fill the 5 gallon jugs with quarters just got annoying as did having to store the extra jugs. The Brita fits in our refrigerator and the extra filters are small and easy to store. The larger capacity is really nice. The size and the spout is great for placing in the refrigerator to always have cold water. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the water filters now (my Brita pitcher from many years ago was very slow). It was so fast I initially thought the filter wasn't working! My entire Brita fills up in about 1 minute or less. I love the 'handles' at the top which make it easy to transport from sink to fridge when full. I did buy the higher-end filters. I live in an area where we have extremely hard water and the chlorine levels can be high enough that you can both taste and smell it. I have not had any issues with the Brita filter clearing up such hard, chlorinated water. The water tastes clear. In my opinion, it is better than bottled water taste-wise. I have been very impressed at how well the water is filtered. I also use the filtered water in tea kettles and such and do not get nearly as much hardwater residue. I have recommended this to others in my area as it is a an economical way to get very clean drinking water. This tastes just as good as a reverse osmosis system but is a fraction of the cost even when purchasing more filters.

We ordered this hoping it would help after getting a new well put in. We got a water testing kit for basic testing and our water is pretty good. It has a high total alkalinity, which was really the only thing really out of whack. Iron, pH, bacteria, sulfide, manganese, hardness, mercury, nitrates were all normal. We have a filter on the water coming into the house and this just filters it more. From the tap the total alkalinity was at the 240 range which was the highest measurement. With the Brita it measured 180. So it did help. The water does taste a little bit better too. I can't say anything about the other trace elements because we didn't have them in our water, but it did lower the total alkalinity to normal levels so it is doing something. The slim design fits perfectly in our side by side fridge and I do love having the spout on the front is great for filling glasses and water bottles. So far there have been no leaks from the spout or the container. Of course user error when filling the top while it's still in the fridge or a cat tripping you up on the way to put it back in said fridge cannot be blamed on Brita. The filters are very fast, much faster than the old ones that I used to have. However, when it starts getting full, the filter does slow down, but...physics. So not too surprising. The filter will be very fast until the water rises above the bottom of the filter, then it will slow down...a lot. But it will still filter. I just keep water in the top until the bottom fills up. There is an indicator on top to let you know when to change the filter. Not sure how it works, but it lights up every time I close the lid. Time will tell. That reminds me, I need to order filters so I have them on hand. Sigh. I do keep a pitcher to fill the top so I don't have to carry it from the sink to the fridge. It's not too heavy if it's empty and you are only filling the top, but water weight begins to add up. 1 gallon = about 9 pounds, roughly. So it's up to you haw much you want to carry. Keeping a pitcher to fill up the top is much easier, and remember the cat, sometimes safer. Also if you have dogs, small children, etc. It's also wonderful not having to spend money on cases of water bottles every month!! Less waste and save money! It works great, functional, and actually did make a difference in my water testing. I do recommend it. Better than the old Brita pitcher and the filters are better too. So far!

Great size and capacity. Fits well in fridge while still providing access to refill the reservoir. Makes mediocre water taste great. We’ve got decent tap water but this really made an improvement. Filtration speed is decent as the unit has a large capacity and unless you’re filling multiple large containers, this should work well in your household too.

I've used Brita pitchers for years, but this is my first dispenser with a Brita filter. It came well packaged and with one Brita filter. The outer box looked like a refurb, but the product inside was brand new and wrapped in a protective plastic. I carefully removed the plastic and hand-washed the container before filling it. I soaked and rinsed the filter in preparation for inserting it into the cleaned container. Once I installed the filter, I began to fill the dispenser with water from the tap. I had to stop four times for the water to filter and go into the lower chamber. The process to fill the dispenser took about 20 minutes. What I like about this dispenser is that it has such a large capacity and can easily accomodate the addition of things like lemon slices. The spicket is large enough to easily turn on and off. The filter is easy to remove and replace. I do wish the plastic that contains the water was a bit thicker as I think if you're not careful you could easily drop and crack or break it. Care must be taken when removing it from the fridge, and a handle at each end would have been a great addition for this reason. Overall, the quality is good and as long as you're very careful with the movement and cleaning of it, it will be a great addition to your household, office, or dorm. I feel good knowing I'll be eliminating buying plastic bottles of water in the future, thanks to Brita.

This is Great, I wished I had bought it years ago. It replaced the pitcher style system from Britta I have used for many years. Same filter but a larger water reservoir. Now I can fill my one gallon water jug in the morning before work with out waiting on a recharge of the pitcher. Easy to fill, I pull the extendable wand from the kitchen sink and hold it above it and presto it fills the holding tank as fast as it discharges filtered water.

We drink a lot of water, especially with this summer being so hot. I have a Brita filtered jug as well but this pitcher made having lots of water available so much easier to do. Might get another. The water tastes so much better too

This is a great depenser size that fits into the corner of my kitchen, its a better filter than the basic Brita filter, Brita Plus filter retores and cleans the quality of tap water in a hard water area. This is definately a remarkable buy under £70. Definately worth the money and saves on cheap bottled water, which has residues of plastic, which can be harmful to the body. Its saved alot of money on bottled water too!!! Very happy with this purchase:)
