This is an excellent wall vent. The gauge of the metal is heavy, not light where it can be easily bent. The paint seems good and I expect it to hold up well over the years.I have an older down draft stove and it blows strong through this vent. The flap is spring loaded but the spring is not too strong to restrict the air. The grating over the vent is great to keep out critters following the smell of that bacon.It has a good durable look. There is no plastic. I would definitely get this again.

This vent is well made and very functional. I used it to add ventilation to my basement and with an attached blower it worked like a charm. Good quality item.

best vent/ duct i could find anywhere! most are such crap, not closing, breaking apart after a year or more or allowing wasps to create nest, or bird to build nest inside!!this one is great if a bit problematic to install. but i am hopeful.only bad thing is you need a screwdriver to remove lint screen. this is installed on second floor as a dryer vent, so that is a hassle.
