Mancala for Kids

Our family loves board games and with young kids this game is great! It’s super cute and the gems are easy to handle by the smallest of hands. Great quality!

You get what you expected to receive. A unique looking version of the game you know. The little animal pieces look like glass (they’re plastic which is a plus. I mean they have to be, it’s aimed at kids) I have a 11 year old and a 5 year old who love playing. My older one has to guide the younger one every now and then. But that’s to be expected. Great looking pieces, the kids love it, and pretty inexpensive. I say pretty inexpensive because I wish the box had a little latch of some sort. Again this is aimed at kids who lets face it, are not the best at keeping things tidy. So if there was a latch it would be easier to keep the pieces together. Overall a great purchase! Keep playing and having fun

My granddaughter and I played this game for HOURS! It is so well made and the little animals are so bright and colorful and the wooden tray is smooth and sturdy. We weren’t gentle with them and they withstood it all. We also played matching animals and color games. We had so much fun!

I bought this for my six year old. The pieces are super cute and the game is easy enough to play for a six year old, but I also enjoy playing it with my husband. My four year old likes to play with the little animals too. The board folds up on itself for storage so it cleans up easily without losing pieces. I would recommend this for any kids, it is easy to pick up the idea of the game after a few rounds.

We love this game (kids, teens and adults)! The board is nice and the colored animal game pieces are attractive for younger/all audiences. The game pieces are plastic and vary from fish to rhinos. The wooden board folds, which is nice. The pieces have to be on one side of the board and spread out evently for the game to close. Unlike other folding game boards, this one does not have a clasp to keep the board closed when not in play. the pieces can fall out & easlity be lost during transportation. We’ve placed our set in a large ziplock. I couldn’t find a suitable bag that could ensure pieces didn’t get lost and also be a good fit to prevent the board from opening or being damaged during transport from game closet to table or during storage.

We had a 10-in-1 game set that used little beans for mancala and very small pockets. I taught the kids to play that and they enjoyed it so much that I decided to get this one. They LOVE it! They love playing the game, and love the little animals. I love the compact storage, the portability, not chasing marbles across the house, and, of course, game time with the kids! My kids are 4, 6, and 8. The 4 year old likes to play for fun, the 8 and especially the 6 year old enjoy the strategy. I see us playing this for years to come!

My 8 year old came home from school talking about this game and I thought it would be great to get something that doesn't use technology. I'm so happy with this purchase! This is a quick and easy game to learn and play. I feel like I bought something that we both love to do and it's also inspired a "Game Night" that we both look forward to. I consider this an educational game, as it requires us to think about the best strategy to win the game. It started out as just fun, but as we play it more, it's become more about strategy and counting - but it's still fun. The game board is made of wood and the pieces are plastic (6 different colors/animals). I feel that it's of good quality and am happy that I didn't have to pay more than $13! This will definitely be something that I buy as gifts for my child's friends.

My 8 year old daughter asked for this game last year after a vacation. I honestly thought it would be played with once or twice and then gather dust on a shelf. Thankfully, I was proved very wrong as she plays with it frequently still. This set is not particularly fancy; the animal shaped plastic pieces appeal to the younger set while still retaining the classic elements of the game. I do wish there was a storage area for the pieces (we use a resealable plastic bag) and it would be nice to have the option to buy additional animals in case a few were misplaced. Otherwise, we're very happy with this purchase and I'd definitely recommend this games for ages 4 and up.

Bons points: pièces originales en forme d'animaux idéales pour capter l'attention des enfants lorsqu'on cherche à les initier à ce jeu de réflexion. Plateau refermable, très bien pour emmener en voyage par exemple. Mauvais points: les charnières du plateau ont beaucoup de jeu et me semblent plutôt fragiles. A voir dans le temps... Règles du jeu fournies en anglais uniquement et de manière trop succinctes. Conclusion: je recommande ce produit pour l'originalité des pièces (ça change des insipides billes de verre plates). Ma fille de 6 ans adore ce jeu! Et comme toujours, la livraison est rapide.

Such a simple but fun game that can easily played by the whole family. The animal counters make it interesting for little players, and there is no concern over them breaking as they are plastic. They are small enough to be a choking hazard so that's something to be wary of. The only thing we don't love about this board is that the cups aren't deep enough when they get very full and the counters spill out into the surrounding cups when you try to scoop them out. Otherwise a great game for the whole family

Interesante juego que se puede jugar de forma sencilla e intuitiva o planificando una cuidadosa estrategia. Las figuritas de colores de animales pueden hacer pensar que es óptimo para niños muy pequeños de 3 años, pero no es así.

I remembered playing mancala as a kid so I wanted to buy one for my 6 yrs old daughter. She loves the animal shapes and plays with them a lot separately. The game board is of surprisingly good quality. Made of hard wood and the hinges work perfectly. It is very practical, folds up small and acts as a storage box for the animals. The game itself is great for kids and adults alike, this is one of those few games that both of us enjoy. Not too simple for adults and not too difficult for kids. Then only drawback: kids can get distracted and start playing with the animals in the middle of a game...
