Most painful and unreliable readings
I have been using OneTouch Verioflex for last one year and it worked fine. I started using AccuChek Active for only reason that the test strips are cheaper by about 20% from OneTouch strips. That saves money over long term. This review is after around 10 days of use. I am highly disappointed with this product. First problem: after using almost 35-40 strips, I am still unable to figure out the correct method for putting blood on the strip. I am wasting more than 2 strips per test on an average. And so many needle pricks as well. Meter is more likely to give E-2 error than show any result. I never bend strips or enter wrong side of strip. One-touch experience is so easy that Accuchek seems like decade old design which has stopped innovating. I might have used close to 200 strips in OT and remember to have had not more than 3 wrong blood applications during initial month.Second reason: It has given wrong result thrice within last 10 days. Results in the range of 10 to 20 mg/DL is simply not possible because I don't take insulin or any medication yet. Second test within 5 minutes with same device or with Onetouch has shown correct results which are over 80 mg. This is just not acceptable.I am contemplating keeping AC as a backup device henceforth and switching to OT as primary device. Now it's clear why OT charge a premium on their strips.OT Verioflex also connects to mobile app via Bluetooth. Analysing data is much easy there. Although on paper they read same but OT requires much lesser blood than AC Active. I strongly recommend against this product for new users.Update as on Sept 24, 2019.Accuecheck has stopped working for more than a month now. It won't switch on. After changing the cell twice, it switched on for few minutes but could't complete a test. RIP Accuecheck. OT is still going on.
