Bought this for my son and I to start our LEGO city & I am thoroughly impressed. The build time took a little longer than expected but this is probably more down to a very excited four year old rather than the complexity of the set itself. The track is a good size for a starting point, the siding is a great play addition. The train itself is very sturdy and well built. It’s bigger than I was expecting and can survive the occasional derail. The Log cart is a neat carriage and the overall finished build is very good. Not a great deal of playability. The transport cart is one of two carriages with advanced playability. The bank vault and snow mobile container work perfectly with the included fork lift. The fork lift is an amazing feature with working lift thanks to a clever use of a rubber band. The control tower is a worthy inclusion and only enhanced the playability factor. My son loves it. Connecting the train is easy and straightforward, you can also change the color of the LED to match the train so if you add more trains (like I am already planning) you can easily identify which is which. If you do you will need to remember additional controllers / hubs. Overall, I would recommend this set to anyone who is looking to start of into the world of LEGO trains or starting a city, or even those considering expansion.

Amazing set for any lego lover. Train looks very good. That was interesting to assemble this set and son enjoys to play with it.

My 8 y.o. son absolutely adores this. He got it as birthday present and already spent many hours for the past 4 days playing with it. Lots to build so teens and adults in family were very happy to get stuck in too! The train runs both directions, automatically attaches carriages via magnets and has variable speed (max is fast!) I love that the train isn't loud although it would be nice if it had sound effects on demand. This set has so many cool models such as a pulley system crane, a van with opening doors and side door that works seamlessly with the included forklift to extract the gold and money inside the bank van! It was worth paying a bit more and getting this over the high speed train set we were going to get initially - it has so many more interesting parts and vehicles for the price. If your child (or adult) enjoys building with Lego, role play and vehicles then this is the perfect gift. Best part about Lego is that it isn't fixed so we're looking forward to customising the trains with Lego from other sets and building new creations with the pieces included! The only warning is that the train and controller take 10 AAA batteries and the Duracell batteries in the train ran flat after about 3h use. It's probably best to get rechargeable batteries for this set for value and ease.

This is a fabulous set for a 5-year-old boy who loves Lego. My great-nephew absolutely loves it. Really well built (this is a Lego set after all) and with a good selection of vehicles. Extension packs for the track can be bought also. Just brilliant.

We started my 5 y.o. son's Lego train set with a passenger train with which he quickly became bored ('it just goes round and round'!). Fortunately we had much more fun together playing with the various interactive elements of this set. He also had another cops/robber City set so this ties into the robber/bank truck/money and gold bars in the train set, extending the playing options. At full price it's a bit expensive, but I got this in the black Friday sale, so am quite happy with the value for money. If you consider all the elements (track, train, wagons, vehicles and motor/control system) you can see there is a lot in this set. People obviously buy these to take certain elements out and sell unwanted parts on usual auction site. the only real criticism of the set is that just one more switch would allow a side loop as opposed to a simple siding. Otherwise it's a 5 star recommendation.

This is a nice set though a little pricey for what you get. The cargo train is well made and robust - the track is the same as other lego trains, so you can add to or extend any existing track. You get a single set of points. \ This is a Power Up set, so you get both the controller but also can pair with a device such as phone or tablet - this is handy if you have more than one train to control or just want some more options (or lose the the controller...!) 6x AAA batteries required, which last a fair amount of time and generate a good turn of speed - enough to spectacularly crash the train if that’s your thing. the crane is a little fiddly and tends to fall over a lot - the weakest element of this set in my view, but the other wagons are good quality. This works well combined with the passenger train set and I have to say is a lot easier to set up and then play with than a well known brand that specialises in trains (starts with an H) - and with it being Lego, there is so much more you can add to it as well (In my son’s case, the Star Wars troopers landed in the middle, intent on hijacking the train...). A very good set with a lot of elements that can be built out or incorporated - still feels a little expensive to me, but there aren’t many train sets to pick. Recommended.

Nothing to dislike about this, good amount of track, not a long build but engaging, great when used with the powered up app or the remote that comes with it, I would suggest buying a couple of sets of rechargeable batteries as it takes 10 AAA's

Bonne qualité, bon rendu, et fascicules très bien expliqués avec des schémas clairs pour les enfants. Petit point négatif : certaines pièces ne tiennent pas bien emboîtés et tombe de peur. C'est dommage, car frustrant pour l'enfant, lorsqu'il joue.

Das Paket ist sehr umfangreich, was den Preis durchaus rechtfertigt. Was mich besonders begeistert hat, war der Zusteller. Erst konnte er mich nicht antreffen, da ich arbeiten war. Trotzdem ist er zu später Stunde nochmal gekommen und hat sein Glück versucht. Mit Erfolg. Vielen Dank für diesen Einsatz. Er ist mein Held an diesem Tag!

Deze set is erg goed! Ik heb hem voor 110,50 gekocht in de aanbieding, wat een goeie prijs is en goedkoper kan het niet met deze set, alleen het nadeel is dat de doos beschadigd is aangekomen, een hele diepe snee zit in de doos, wat erg zonde is en vooral omdat ik de doos bewaar.

My 8 year old has been saving his chore money for a year and finally purchased this set. The quality of the tracks is great and the remote control is something we haven’t had on a Lego purchase before -love the app option!
