impressive so far
I'll update this in a month or so but day one use, impressed.Kettle reaches a boil quickly when full - you have to fill, boil & repeat 3 times on first use prior to using for drinks. For tea first use was to 70 degrees, with kettle half full, returned to kettle 1 1/2 plus later, had lost 20 or so degrees - very quick to heat unto 70 again.Looks the business, read out on the base is super clear, controls are easy, and intuitive. The lid is sealed so when heating to a full boil you get no steam out of the spout - a bonus safety feature! The sides are definitely cool to the touch even when full of boiling waterNegatives if you could call them that from my first afternoons useIt does pour slowly, but then its essentially a vacuum flask that is also a kettle so the spout is small to keep in the heatNo window indicator - there is a max line internally pressed into the metal which is obvious - however as the weather is kept warm there is no real concern if the kettle is overfilled for the number of cups of tea needed as it kept warm thus I'd say this negative is a mute point frankly.overall so far I am impressed.

Excellent Eco Option
First one of these arrived damaged but was replaced quickly by Amazon. Our primary reason for buying this was environmental. It's lower wattage than most kettles and keeps water hot so there is less need to reboil.Quick to boil despite being rated at only 1800w (low for a kettle - our old one was rated at 3000w). The selectable temperature is extremely useful and must help save energy in a house like ours where green tea, which is best brewed with 80 degree water, is king.Kettle can also be knocked over full of water without leaking any, a very useful safety feature if you have little ones running around.Kettle is also very quiet when compared to a standard kettle which is a welcome relief and it doesn't let mountains of steam escape when boiling like a normal kettle does and therefore, perhaps unintentionally, reduces damp. All in all, if you are looking for a kettle which helps protect the environment a little this is a really good choice, only giving 4 stars though as there are some questions about durability and build quality!

The product isn't good enough for £100
I have been using this kettle for 3 weeks now in a daily basis.* It is much slower than my previous 3000W kettle but it isn't surprise since this unit claims to be 1500W.* The lid was designed to trap the steam but it failed after a week of use so now it releases lots of steam when the water is boiled. Heat/energy retention fails.* Pouring the water is very slow, uneven/hectic and it isn't practical to pour water into a narrow mug.* One has to turn it almost upside down to completely empty it and the escaping steam can be hot to the hand. One can overcome this issue by warming up more water than needed but that defies the energy saving concept as well.I purchased this to be more environmental friendly so I'm not going to send it back because it would just defy the whole idea. This kettle doesn't worth the high price tag with these issues, I was much happier with my previous precision temperature control Russel Hobbs kettle that served us for 5 years before it failed. That was much cheaper. Pity, they don't have that model anymore.

A Good Kettle
This kettle boils water quickly. It keeps the water hot for a good while after boiling, which is amazing and saves power consumption, hopefully this will extend the life of the kettle too. Easy to use, easy to set temperatures and easy to clean!

Brilliant kettle
Temp control, energy efficient are very good. It's looks good too. However I feel if you had trouble with your hand grip you would find it difficult removing the lid.

Not a good product
30mins at hot tops, to heavy which makes you think these water in it, so you dry boil. No external water level without removing the lid, defeating to purpose. Poor design of the thermal lid so water come out as a dribble if it does indeed come out at all.

3 things to note
Heavy, slow pouring and no visible water level gauge without removing lid

No more waiting for a second cuppa
I really like the idea of a kettle that you don't have to boil from cold every time. Because it stays hot for longer I'm not standing over waiting.I like it.
