Well built
Built my own table with aluminum guides on end! Sled works well

It operates very smoothly
I've only used it once but I'm happy with it. The instructions on putting it together weren't very good but I figured it out

Works well but may need additional tools not listed in the sales info
The sled itself works very well. I needed to joint 1.5" x 12" x 8' oak boards. The results were almost as good as a 12 inch jointer would do. However, if you use the height adjustment plates, the dust collector and need to work on 1.5 in wood your router bit probably will not go down enough to cut the wood. The adjustment plates adds 1 in to the minimum cutting height and the dust collector adds about 3/4 of an inch.. To solve this you will need a router collet extension. It would be nice if this information was included in the product sales info and if SpeTool actually sold collet extensions.

Worthwhile Upgrade For Me
If I could deduct a half star for the directions I would. That being said, once you figure out the frat step or two, it’s really easy. It was a bit finicky getting it set to my tables width but I’m used to setting things up and it taking a few tries to get it perfect. Once set up, it rides extremely smooth. The adjusting of the height is really quite easy. I got this model as to not have to store rails which is a big plus for me but I do plan on making a permanent flattening table in the near future where I won’t mind having rails. This product gives me faith that their other professional flattening system will be worth it once the time comes. I got the dust collection upgrade and it dramatically improved that aspect compared to my home made flattening jig, which had no dust collection at all. This thing is sturdy, runs smooth, is made of Ridgid materials, fit and finish are nice. It’s hard to knock any points off of it. It does exactly what it claims it does in the videos.

Does good
Works like it should. realize you might need an extender on your router and bit to get deep enough for doing the work.

Buy the better model
If your thinking of this, consider the better version. This sled has a few issues though it does work in a pinch. First, if you work isn't thick, enjoy having to raise it to get to the minimum distance the bit can reach. Second, there is nothing keeping the sled down onto whatever surface it is rolling over. Not a terrible issue if you constantly clean dust and debris out of the path to keep it from rising up. Speaking of debris, without the extra vacuum sled, you can enjoy it building up in the travel path of the acryllic pad. The pads have some up and down slop in them which creates inconsistent cuts. In short, save your money and buy the nicer model that uses round rails to travel or buy a thickness sander.

Just what I needed
Works great for flattening large walnut slabs for a table top. I thought I would have to run the slabs through a drum sander, but hand sanding will be fine.

Tricky setup, then good results.
Finicky setup and included instructions are pretty bad. After assembly, adjustments have to be made from underneath, which is really awkward. Once ready, movement is pretty smooth and it makes a flat surface, so that's good.

Very easy to use. Everything you need comes with it minus the router and the plywood

Pros: heavy gauge steel brackets and aluminum extrusion, routing height selections is a big plus, and the acrylic router plate fits Bosch full size router. Cons: I was confused by all the extra parts come with the unit without explanation of their usage. The ends of the extrusion are sharp and scratches the acrylic plate when inserting into the track. I had to file the edges to avoid scratching the acrylic plate. Also the extrusion has some dust (fine aluminum filings?) the plate didn't glide smoothly until I clean the track with mineral spirits and then spray dry lube with PTFE. It should be included as assembly steps in the manual. Overall it is an adequate products. I like their roller design doesn't limit the run length as long as you have straight edges for them to roll on. Other system uses linear track run smoother but most lack height selections and has limited track length. I recommend this unit ,but hindsight, I will buy a linear track system which usually costs more.
