This Mediterranean Diet cookbook has a great variety of options to choose from. It includes a 30-day meal plan you can choose to follow if you don’t know where to start, or if you want some good ideas for a meal plan. Following the plan is not required. It starts out by explaining the art of Mediterranean cooking and the benefits of following the diet. It includes a diet pyramid that shows the necessary food groups of the diet. The categories include Breakfast, Beans and Grains, Salads, Veggies and Sides, Vegetarian Main dishes, Poultry, Beef Pork and Lamb, Fish and Seafood, Snacks and Appetizers, Pizzas Wraps and Sandwiches, Pasta, Dessert, Staples, Sauces, Dips, and Dressings. At the end of the book is a Measurement Conversion Chart, a list of the Dirty Dozen Vegetables – vegetables which are at high risk of containing hazardous materials, and you should get organic, and a list of the Clean Fifteen Vegetables – vegetables which are not at risk of containing these hazardous substances. Each recipe includes a list of ingredients needed, prep times, cooking times, and the quantity of servings. You can adjust the quantities of ingredients to make larger or small meals for whichever group of people you are serving, whether it is a small get together, eating alone, or catering to a party. Each recipe also includes a list of nutritional information so you can track your dietary intake. The recipes I tried from this book are the Lentil and Zucchini Boats, the Fruity Yogurt Bliss Smoothie, the Cheesy Cauliflower Tots, the Crispy Eggplant Rounds, the Broccoli Crust Pizza, the Mozzarella Chicken Nuggets, the Tomato Basil Melts, and the Greek Yogurt Chocolate Mousse with Fresh Berries. This book contains a lot of great recipes that are simple to make. Even the most picky eaters can find recipes in here that they will love.

Black and White Throughout
While this is probably a good group of meals for a healthy diet, there are no pictures of the actual end result of the meal---just the recipe. You'll get a dozen pictures inside of a few of the many recipes. But be warned, there is nothing in color inside this book. The only color is on the outside cover of the book.
