S.M.S.L SH-6 Amp Ultra-Low Distortion RCA Input 6.35mm Mini Desktop Headphone Amplifier (Black)

Used fairly extensively with: AKG K550 mk3, Audeze LCD-XC.Power output is plenty for me and should be really good for most headphones, I've never had to leave Low gain while using it.I've not noticed noise while using it except for setting it to high gain and turning the volume knob almost all the way up, though this would never be an issue for real use.The sound seemed to be great, nothing really stood out to me which is kind of a good thing. If I had to push it, MAYBE the top end/treble seemed to feel more... textured on some tracks. I can't describe it really well.The build and actual feel of the amp is really good, switches feel great and the volume knob feels smooth to turn.Overall I'm happy with it, my one little gripe about it is I wish the volume knob had a white dot that was visible in a darker environment because I can not ever make out the dimple.

Powerful amplification, especially matched with SU-6 which is a match made in audio. I also purchased a pair of hifiman Sandara's which sound great when used with this setup. Connected a PC to the dac as it allows to play at 384 at 32bit which is the best quality playback that I could manage and it sound beyond what I hoped.

Based on reading & watching multiple You Tube reviews I narrowed my search for an affordable headphone amplifier down to Schitt Magni Heretic or the SMSL SH-6. I therefore purchased both in order to do a side-by-side comparison.Streaming Roon via ethernet to a Cambridge Audio CXN V2, via a Primaluna Evo 300 Pre-Amp and then to the headphone amp, I evaluated both amps side by side using Hifman Sundara headphones.Without going into crazy details the SMSL SH-6 came out on top.Both are excellent headphone amps, just as many reviews have previously stated. The SMSL gave me a little more clarity and detail, and also sounded more open. However, this obviously depends on your personal taste. I do not like overly bright sounding speakers, such as Focal. I returned a set of Focals for Sonus Faber floorstanders, just to give an example of how I like the sound presentation to be.Both are winners! (The Schitt Magni is currently cheaper directly from Schitt, just fyi)

No me consideraria un audiofilo pero este amplificador le dio vida a mis X2HR, muy transparente el amplificador y su selector de salida es muy practico.Unicos detalles a considerar!El cable de corriente es "propietario" asi que no lo podras remplazar si lo dañas, ademas de que es algo corto ya que mide alrededor de 1.5m

Kein Pop beim einschalten. Leistung ist sehr gut. Wird mit den Hifiman Edition Xs verwendet und ist dafür auch hervorragend geeignet.Wird zusammen mit dem DAC smsl sa-1 verwendet.

Suono dettagliato, caldo e pieno. L'alimentatore con il pin a ground faceva rumore, sostituito con uno che avevo in casa senza problemi. Consigliato

It was advertised as a headphone amp and DAC combo, but only one item actually arrived. known issue for 6 months apparently.
