It's unexpectedly good.
I browsed around quite a bit before landing on this particular pen for my needs. I wanted something inconspicuous and discreet. This fit the bill on every count, so I decided to try it. I expected absolutely nothing, considering it was an inexpensive pen made by the usual no-name Amazon company. My expectations were happily incorrect. The sound quality is unexpectedly good. I wouldn't say it has some amazing level of "AI" (buzzword) filtration, like you would find on, say, the Audeze Maxwell (which is a ~300 USD headset), but that's to be expected on a product in this price range. If you have too much filtration, you're instead going to capture nothing, so it's a fine balancing act. I walked around in public locations, even loud stores, and surprisingly it could pick up individual conversations as long as they were more or less directed at me, with the pen clipped to my shirt. Absolutely no one even glanced twice at the actual pen. There will definitely be some noise due to handling the pen while recording with it, and bumping against it will cause noise, but it is not excessive. As far as usage, it's very simple to get up and going. Just pressing and holding the button on top will make the LED blink blue and red, and then finally blink red three times. At which point it will record. Pressing the button once pauses the recording and a red LED comes on to indicate as much. Unpausing is similarly done with one button press, and the LED shuts off. While it is recording, no LEDs are on at all. This might bother some people that want visual indication, but I like the discretion. Unpausing and pausing happens more or less instantaneously. It continues recording immediately after the red light goes off. When you take the MicroSD card out in order to look at the recordings it took, they are in some odd .wav format. I was able to get MPC-HC to play them, but regular Windows Media Player doesn't recognize the codec, at least not without a codec pack. One large surprise is that this is able to read exFAT format cards and doesn't even seem limited on the size of the card. I was able to put a 512 GB Sony MicroSD card into this device, and to my surprise it not only recognized but recorded to it. This is compared to a camera of all things that I got on here, which was limited to only 128GB cards formatted... in FAT32... Moving on to output file size, a 25.25 minute recording was approximately 35.6 MB. For my little excursion, that puts the average bitrate at approximately 23.5 KB/s. So the 512 GB card I have inserted into should store approximately 252.15 (very roughly, I likely misrounded and did not properly convert bits here and there) days of recording. A 64GB card would store about 31 days. So you could essentially keep this on for an entire month (battery allowing of course) and it would capture that entire month. Finally, the pen writes well. The replacement cartridges are very specific to this pen, so you might have issues replacing them easily, but one could likely find some ink refill kit out there, or simply take replacement leds that are longer, cut them off, and tie the plastic screw holds onto them. The pen certainly didn't have to write well, but writing well means that it will be even more inconspicuous during usage. I will update this if I encounter any QC issues such as refusing to charge, dying quickly, etc etc. I am quite fast to update and drop my rating if an issue arises. But for now, with my very limited usage, it has been excellent.

It definitely caught some people...
My wife wanted this for a former employer where they were doing things by the seat of their pants instead of how company policy stated. This was healthcare. It worked well enough that some people got caught with their pants down for sure. We live in a state that has single party consent. No HIPAA was violated either. Only used for conversations between employees. It picked things up better than expected, and people didn't have a clue it wasn't "just a pen". While I don't recommend to anyone to just record whatever, do what you feel you need to do. In a world that seems to be punishing good deeds, it doesn't hurt to have a little backup that can't be refuted when they try to claim they never said that or instructed it. Recording quality was a solid 4.5 of 5. It's a little tinny, but that should be expected. Size is just the same as a nice twist pen. It's a little heavier than, but expected. As long as your system can read a microSD card or with an adapter, compatibility shouldn't be an issue. Instructions are meh, but that's okay, it's a pretty simple device.

Excellent device for capturing thoughts/notes on the go. No more need 3x5 cards!
Small enough to easily stick in a pocket or hang on your neck, but not so small you lose it in your pocket. About the size of a pack of gum. UI is bare-bones, but audio quality is great for "note to self" stuff. Buttons are easily accessible, and no need to carry an extra "dongle" to get to the buttons to play back audio on the device. Takes a few seconds to wake up and record from the power-off state but doesn't seem to be long enough to lose my thoughts. Password feature keeps your recordings are secure, and also won't even let you connect to a computer without putting the password in first. "Music" feature doesn't have any folder structure or ability to organize files - just lumps them all into one list together. No 3.5mm / 1/8" audio jack, but a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is included for both listening, and also as a line-in recording source. It comes with a cheap set of ear buds, but I prefer to connect it to a Bluetooth transmitter so I can use my Bluetooth earbuds to transcribe my recordings to my ToDo list / calendar / planner. Wish I would have found this a long time ago. No more need to carry bulky 3x5 cards for capturing thoughts or notes.

Encouraging a future author
My daughter loves world building and story telling but is not yet confident in writing. We got one of these for her to record all her imaginings and she loves it! It’s easy enough for a barely-7-year-old to use and so far she hasn’t maxed out the storage or damaged it in any way, even with frequent and sometimes silly use. She has no problem charging it up when needed and the battery holds up to her extended use. The quality is sufficient for our purposes. It does the job and was worth the price, in my estimation.

Ideal for those who need hassle-free recording.
Very useful for meetings and classes. The audio quality is crystal-clear, even in noisy environments, and the voice activation feature saves a lot of space. It's compact, easy to use, and has a long battery life. Ideal for those who need hassle-free recording.

Great value, works great!!
We purchased this as an extra recorder to have when we traveled. We use it to keep notes about places we've seen or if we take a picture with our phone we can go back and give an adequate description. Really good recorder.

I got this device to record my class lectures and work presentations, and it works perfectly so far. It’s compact and performs well. With a 64GB storage capacity, it offers plenty of space for recordings, and the battery will last for up to 24h so plenty of recording time. The quality of recording is pretty descent especially for the size. Despite its size it feel strong as apart for the buttons and the screen it is all made of metal. One feature I find very useful and apricate is the voice activation. It eliminates long stretches of silence during recordings, saving time when listening back or transcribing. The controls are easy to understand and well-design to the device’s small size. The colour digital screen is sharp, easy to read, and the menu navigation is intuitive, making it simple to operate even for first-time users. This recorder is powered by a rechargeable internal battery, and with the included USB-C cable, it charges efficiently. A full charge provides up to 24 hours of continuous recording, which is fantastic for extended sessions. Other handy features include password protection to keep you recording secure in case you loose it, variable play speeds, an A-B repeat function, MP3 playback (but I would probably never listen music with it), a screensaver, and one-touch delete, among others. Included in the box you have a USB C charging cable, a headphone and adaptor to connect the headphone. Overall, this is a well-designed and discreet recording device packed with useful functions. I’d definitely recommend it!

I ordered this little digital voice recorder from the Amazon brand Zipcide. It's a great little piece of kit. I often record personal voice notes or record talks, and now I use this because it is so handy to use - incredibly small (eaily fits in a pocket alongs a multitude of other things) and intuitive to use. I have used it to record about 4 hours of lectures so far, and I haven't even thought about recharging it yet, and that was straight out of the box. The memory is 64gb - often what you get on a basic-level phone - which should be more than enough for voice-only data. Honestly I think when this fils up I won't wipe it, I'll just buy another and keep these files as back up. I used to record on my phone but when the phone rings, the recording ends. Because this is a recording-only revices, there is no such possible interruption. COmes in a little box with instructions ( haven't yet needed to read them) chaging cable, adaptor, and earbuds. You can listen back via a laptop or direct - I chose the latter, and although the little earbuds work perfectly fine, I used big ol' ear covering headphones instead. Sometimes simple is best! Five stars

From my initial experience with the device, I think it's a good voice recorder that does what it's supposed to with basic functionality. The build quality feels solid and seems to be a good, compact size. I also like that it has a large built-in memory for storing a lot of recordings and also a long lasting battery. It seems simple enough to use--just switch it to "record" (normal or sound activated) and when you are done, switch it off. Copying files to my computer was easy enough--works like any flash drive. You will want to copy the files over to your computer to go through them--especially if you have a lot of recordings. Although it's possible to listen to the recordings directly from the device using the included adapter and headphones, there isn't a quick way to find something--you need to skip to the next/previous until you hear what your looking for. So, if you simply need a device that can record a ton of audio without needing to be charged often, this is great! Ton of capacity and excellent battery life--many days worth. If you are expecting something more from this device, you may be disappointed. I give it five stars for what it is.
