Circus of Shadows

Lika, like everyone else, has a secret, private place inside her where the shadows like to play. However, one day she notices her shadow acting strangely, growing larger and larger, until it sucks her into a strange world where there's a circus of shadows. At first Lika feels afraid and alone but slowly realises her shadow is with her, by her side, ready to play.This is a story about accepting who you are, that we all have dark scary thoughts and acknowledging these but not letting them control you helps build emotional awareness and resilience.Although it's a picture book - filled with captivating and visually enchanting images, it's definitely not for very young children and even some older ones might find it a little bit scary, even the front cover of a large circus tent with an eye and huge looming shadows is a bit disconcerting!!

This book is spectacular! Without a doubt, one of the finest in this genre. The symbolism with the unconscious is both delicate and moving. Definitely not just for children! And the illustrations are simply wonderful. I loved it so much 🥰
