Up to the job, but no frills
This is a small cafetière- 350ml, to put that in perspective a regular can of soft drink is 330ml. The three cup size is referring to small coffee cups, not the mugs that most people use, so I would say this is best described as a 1person cafetière rather than a three cup cafetière.Build quality is average, it’s not the thickest glass, but it is coping with the boiling water fine. The plunger is easy to take apart to wash, the base fits snugly to the sides of the glass so minimal grinds escape ( I’m yet to find a perfect no escape plunger). The black plastic trim is ok, it’s up to the job and cleans well.

Exploded on Me After a Few Months of Normal Use
I really wanted to love this cafetiere, as it wasn't expensive, but it was more expensive than ones I owned earlier - I was hoping it would be better than my previous cafetieres. Unfortunately, I do not feel that this cafetiere is good value for money, because after a few months of normal use - 1 times per day, a few times per week, when I was making my coffee a few months after purchasing, it exploded whilst I was making coffee the usual way - the glass broke in half and the bottom part fell off and my coffee was all over me. Now i have no more means of making coffee. Before this happened, the mesh bit started to deteriorate way earlier and the coffee grounds weren't filtering properly from the beginning of use sadly. I do not see how this is better than the cheaper cafetieres I previously had - the Tesco 3GBP cafetiere lasted me much longer and didn't explode on me. It is a shame, as I was hoping this cafetriere would be a good one - really wanted to like it.

A complete hassle to clean, not great build quality
First thing I noticed is it didn’t look like its photo. The upper dimensions were wrong. Ours certainly has an additional 3cm of glass above the plastic handle than what’s in the photo. In use it worked fine. Then came the problems. The top plastic bobble came lose on the first usage and had to be super glued. If this top bobble comes lose you can’t undo the bottom 3 filter plates for cleaning. When it came out of the dishwasher the base was completely full of dishwasher water. On emptying this out there is a 2mm gap between the bottom of the glass and the ring of plastic in which water holds. I had to wash out the soapy water and use a kitchen towel to blot this out. What an absolute pain!Actually writing this now I think I’ll only give it one star as it’s turned our daily coffee into a washing up hassle!

Avoid, does not seal properly with the result that either the coffee grounds get past the steel mesh or the whole mix shoots out the spout. The steel mesh is not circular as it has not been cut correctly - quality control appears to be non existent.

Like a Bodum Brazil but less than half the price
I've always considered Bodum to be the leading make for cafetieres and have had several over the years. For my daily breakfast coffee I'd been using a Bodum Brazil for a long time until its plunger started leaking around the edge sometimes. This is highly inconvenient has if can create a sort of fountain of coffee that overflows and makes a mess and of course leaves one with coffee grounds in ones drink. So, I thought that's fair enough as it's quite old, and decided to buy a new one. However, on the first use, the same thing happened only worse this time. Maybe I was unlucky and this was a very rare faulty one but it made we wonder why I was willing to pay over £20 at all.So, I returned it as faulty and I've replaced it with this Cafe Ole model. It's almost identical and was only £7.50. So far it has shown no signs of leakage, seems just as well made and works just as well, so I'm happy with this purchase.

3 Espresso cups! 1 mug.
This cafatierè is a one MUG cafatierè. I bought it expecting a 3 mug size without noticing the 350ml measurement in the description however, I actually needed a 1 mug size too so I can't complain after all the description gives you an accurate ml capacity. It feels strong and sturdy and the glass isn't ultra thin as I've seen on others. It's a 1 mug cafatierè that does it's job, just understand the capacity before buying!

Outstanding value for money - highly recommended!
This simple cafetière from a respected British maufacturer is outstanding value for money! In fact, I'm struggling to understand the poor reviews. Some seem not to understand that the capacity is always measured in small espresso cups, which is why I have this in all three sizes. But this smallest 3-cup size is perfect for that first mug of coffee of the day. I used mine every day for well over two years without mishap - even tucking it into my luggage when travelling - until yesterday when I let it fall into the sink and the inner glass beaker broke. Happily, Amazon still sell an identical article, and a replacement was delivered today by Prime. But honestly, at a tad over £7 (or only £10.95 for the largest size), a cafetière that gave me about 700 uses without so much as needing the mesh filter replacing has to be the bargain of the century! Highly recommended!

Breaks so easily
I've used it once. The idea of being able to use it is that it's meant to hold hot water. This broke the moment hot water was poured it in. Expensive for what it is so expected better quality.
