Filtre externe avec lampe UV ALL POND SOLUTIONS

Great Product
I have three tropical aquariums, a 240 litre, a 180 litre and a 110 litre. In the past I have always used Fluval external filters. However I have had lots of problems with impellers on my Fluval filters, usually with them failing after going off in power cuts etc.The trouble with Fluval is they are expensive to replace. So on this occasion when my filter on the 180 litre tank started playing up I thought I'd look elsewhere. As usual I did my internet research and it led me to this the All Ponds EF2 Plus.Obviously the price is very attractive compared to the usual high priced brands but I like the addition of the built in UV filter. This filter is rated up to 600 litres but personally I think it's probably suited up to a maximum 350 litre.Anyway it arrived a day after ordering and I installed it today.Along with this External filter I added an All pond EF-2 External Filter Booster Supplimentary Canister.Wow what a mouthful.Anyway the intention of this is to add another layer of filtration. This will filter out the heavy rubbish before it reaches the main filter thus meaning I can cut down on my service intervals on the main filter. Cleaner water, less servicing.Well the installation was simple.Use hot water to soak the tubing before trying to fit it on the ther connectors and it'll go on like a breeze. The unit looks really great and appears to be well made. This is quite a large unit and quite heavy. If you want help youtube is great and All Pond Solutions have their own videos there. There are also other helpful videos just do a relevant search. To sum up this is a great external filter, looks good, is unbelievably quiet (considering its size) and fantastic value for money. And, an impeller for the EF2 plus is under £8 versus a Fluval 406 impeller which is over £20.No contest.Don't think about it if you have the space , Just buy it

Superb filter unit and hoses, plastic pipework a bit flimsy
I ordered this when my parents' previous filter unit died, and was a little disappointed by the delivery process which, without good reason, did not meet the promised next day schedule. I wouldn't rely on next day delivery in an urgent situation again. I bought directly from Amazon, so am satisfied that I received a genuine product. The filter itself is generally very good, with well-explained instructions for the rinsing, stacking and correct ordering of the three internal tiers of baskets. I had never set up a filter before, and found the process for the most part, easy going. Filter media are kept in little zip-fastened mesh bags, allowing for easy rinsing and replacement. The inlet and outlet hoses are rugged beasts. I've seen several people commenting on these being difficult to install, but I received them on a day when we were experiencing 30 degree heat, so they were quite flexible and easy to work with.Compared to the build quality of the rest of the unit the inlet and outlet plastic tubing is a bit of a disappointment. Thin, flimsy, prone to coming apart. The pictorial directions for assembling these are less easy to follow, and I encountered a problem with my parents' tank that meant I've had to improvise a bit to keep the relevant parts of the inlet pipework submerged. The pipework is designed to hang over the side of the aquarium and involves quite a narrowly-spaced bend section. This is fine if your tank has plain sides - but not so helpful if it has any kind of internal shelf support structure around the top edge, as my parents' 500l tank has. I managed to work around the problem, but it did involve a bit of DIY. The instructions unhelpfully neglect a step telling you to reopen the tap on the filter before priming, so I did go through a bit of unnecessary exertion and fiddling about with pipework before realising that there was nothing wrong with my assembly. This issue addressed, the rest of set up was straightforward and the filter has been working very nicely. It's really quiet, the majority of noise coming from the outlet sprinkler, and seems to be nicely effective.
