Softer and smoother skin
This serum nourishes and moisturizes my dry skin to give it a brighter complexion with a smoother appearance. This serum is made with ingredients that are gentle on my sensitive skin as it doesn’t give me any irritations’ get a refreshing and cooling sensation when applying this serum on my dry skin. This product helped my skin looks younger and more active as they also feel firmer with a radiant glow. This serum absorbed quickly into my skin giving it soothing and comfort as the texture is so soft. This product also hydrates my skin to keep it drying out and looking dull. This serum so far has given me great results and I hope to get even better results by continuing to use this product.

Hydrating Serum with Unusual Ingredients to Bolster Microbiome
Because I use a variety of skin care products and had never used any with the combination of ingredients found in this serum, I ordered it and then began doing some basic research to determine how it might actually differ from others. This product contains “post-biotic bacillus ferment,” “brown algae collagen,” and plant-based squalane—all of which, I have learned, involve newer ways to addressing skin issues associated with aging and skin health. That said, after a number of searches, I find no direct information on “collagen derived from algae,” so I gather that this brown algae ingredient gives one’s body what it needs (as in increased oxygen) to boost one’s own collagen production—a natural function. It seems that brown algae does not actually contain directly harvestable collagen, so listing 'brown algae collagen" as an ingredient confuses me.I like the slick feel of this product which goes on like many serums; it is more viscous than some but not terribly thick. The squalane ads to the silky feel. My skin shines after application but, as with other serums, the product takes a moment to dry down, to absorb. Not having used it for long—only three days, I can’t vouch for long term improvement in skin thickness or firmness. I can't see any change or improvement in fine lines. But my sometimes-reddened facial skin does seem calmer and is certainly smoother after I use it. My make- up goes on easily over it and is compatible. I realize that this product is marketed mainly to males, as is obvious from the numerous males pictured in the Amazon ad, but I see no reason that a woman can’t use it.The product is sold as one that “enhances your skin’s microbiome.” I can’t tell if my microbiome is benefiting, but I count on the “post biotic bacillus ferment” to help with things like break-outs and bacterial infections, should I ever have any. My skin feels hydrated after using it, but I am also hoping it will help with the flushing of rosacea. It seems possible that it might, given that one of the theories about the cause of rosacea is related to an over-production of demodex mites that overwhelm the microbiome. Present on all skin they are thought to proliferate wildly with rosacea. I have high hopes for this Freaks of Nature Deeper Dive Moisturizing Serum.

So much silkier than I expected
I expected a good quality serum however was surprised at how silky it was. The serum was absorbed by my skin in a few minutes and did not leave any residue or tackiness. I have very sensitive skin which is easily irritated. So far this product has not bothered my skin or had a negative reaction. After applying my skin was noticeably softer and hydrated.

I enjoy it, but a little gimmicky
Okay so, I do like this product. However, calling it a serum is a little deceptive (allegedly, in my opinion). I say this because when you apply the product, what it actually seems to be is more of an oil than a serum. The consistency is that of an oil. Which, makes sense - it looks like the backbone of this "serum" is "vegan shark-squalene"... which, is just regular plant-based squalene alternative to my knowledge... Anywho, squalene is an oil. Thus, I'm not really sure... I'm not sure that this is actually REALLY technically a serum. It looks like squalene, walks like squalene, and talks like squalene... thus, this is just a really expensive squalene (IMO).Do I enjoy the product? Yes. But I'm of the belief it's just dressed-up squalene - you can get a vegan squalene solution from The Ordinary for like sub $10 USD. They put it in a cute package, and used a lot of fancy descriptors.. but I really do not differentiate between this serum vs. the one from the ordinary, other than those things. The actual product itself... twinning! Also, labeling it as a serum is a little deceptive - if someone isn't super knowledgable about skincare, they may apply it in their routine as they would a serum. Which, oils always always always go LAST, otherwise anything you apply after the oil won't be absorbed. Hence, it IS relevant whether this is a serum vs. an oil, I'm not splitting hairs here. I am personally not applying this in my routine as I would a serum, I use prescription tretinoin so it is absolutely critical that my moisturizers absorb.TLDR: The product is fine, but not worth what they're charging for it. You're just paying extra for the cute packaging. If you feel passionately about adding squalene to your routine, I'd just go for the TO, the squalane used in The Ordinary products is 100% derived from plants. Unless you've got $$ to blow then... this packing unquestionably is very cute, and made from recycled materials.Just my humble opinion as a skincare addict with way too many years fighting acne & a high desert climate. A note on that - squalene does not cause me personally to break out.

Extremely moisturizing
I love this deeper dive moisturizing serum. It has an easy to use pump that dispenses the perfect amount of serum. This serum glides on your skin evenly without feeling greasy. It instantly hydrates and moisturizes my skin. It also helps my skin feel firmer. I definitely will continue to use this serum.
