A Christmas Wish

I received this DVD today. The seller stated it was in good condition so I was hesitant on purchasing it. However, it arrived quickly and was in superb condition. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great movie

great holiday dvd, relaxing and enjoyable story

This is not your typical Christmas movie. Kristy Swanson plays a mother of several kids and husband who is a deadbeat. She decides to get out and hits the road with the kids to start over somewhere else. She ends up working in a small town for little money and a hotel manager who is kind of a jerk (his wife though corrects his errors). As the people get to know her, she finds she is not alone and there are people who will help (like the local pastor and others). Her stepson has a disability and not happy at all with what she did. Ultimately the father does show up and claims his son (the other two he could care less about). Things look grim at one point but once again the value of friends and community (and yes she does pray to God for help at one point) help her out. It is a dark movie at first but shows the value of friends and community. Not a movie though for children as some of the themes are dark and intense.

This is a heart warming movie about the gift of giving and community, something that too few people experience today. Sure, its a little kitschy and syrupy. Maybe me life should imitate THIS sort of community love for well meaning people down on their luck and we'd not be shooting each other on the street corners. It shows just how LITTLE a child needs for Christmas when he has nothing but a loving mother and a wonderful community. DO I know people like this in the movie...CERTAINLY. DO they help like the people in the movie? Yes, they do. This movie is a reminder that you have no idea what one little act of love van do for a family in need.

I hate chick flicks! And I honestly thought I was turning on a Hallmark like movie in the background while I got stuff done tonight. I remember seeing the main actress in other movies when I was younger and I'd always liked her. This movie was such a surprise because I found myself stopping what I was doing and sitting down to watch pieces of it. The message was great and the ending made me cry and I'm not normally so sappy but it was really sweet. I recommend this to anyone known hardship and had God somehow work out things for their good. It's just a really good feeling to see a story about the same thing.

This one made me happy for what I have rather than what I don't. Sure there are a lot of jerks out there but there are some wonderfully supportive people out there also, people who help when they see a need. They may be hiding under gruff exteriors but they are there when you need them. They have soft hearts. There are people out there who can help if you open your heart and let them in. This movie showed all of that and more. This made me laugh and cry everything you want in a Christmas movie!

when you strip away all of the christian propaganda you realize that this is a very sweet fairy tale fantasy in which the handsome prince rescuers the damsel in distress after a magical fairy godfather bestows a blessing on the damsel.the children are delightful as is the gruff hamburger flipper. wouldn't we all wish to live in such a beautiful fairyland place.... where the bullies run away and everybody lives happily ever after.

A great Christmas film. I'm hopeless at reviewing films but here goes. The story is about a woman who is abandoned by her husband 2 weeks before Christmas, leaving her with 3 children and no money so she takes to the road and tries to find a job and somewhere to live then she comes to a small place and everything starts to slot into place but not without a lot of hurdles first. Sorry pretty useless review but hopefully you got the jist of the story. lol...

Usual Feel-Good Sappy Christmas Film.Perfect For The Festive Season, Acting And Story-Line A Little Above Average For This Type Of Film.Considering One Views This Once-A-Year, It's Not Bad Entertainment...

I wasn't expecting much from this film, as there are so many bad Christmas movies out there and our family have seen a few terrible ones lately. However the kids, hubby and I were really touched by this movie.It is well acted and heartwarming and for once shows us the REAL meaning of Christmas. And no I don't mean "Santa", "The Christmas spirit" or even "It's all about family and giving, not getting" but the real true meaning. It was nice to see the single mother witnessed to by her young daughter and seeing her praying to God rather than Santa or a Christmas tree or all the other ridiculous things people pray to these days in Christmas films!Ok it is not intended to be a Christian film as far as I am aware, but it had a lovely message and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We will certainly be watching this one every Christmas now and would recommend it to others.

Watched this a week before christmas. It is a heartwarming story of a single mother arriving in a new town during the festive season.It's not in the league of say 'It's a wonderful life' or 'Scrooge', and it may at times seem a little cliched. Nevertheless, it is very Christmasy, with a positive christmas message. The characters are warm and there is enough going on to make it entertaining seasonal viewing.

This was by no means diabolical, but it didn't have much of a story line, a little bit 2 American cheese ball acting , in my opinion. That's not to say it wasn't good value for money, I did t regret buying or watching but certainly won't be one that I add to my Christmas movie collection.
