Saves you time and takes no effort
This is a good entry level robot mop.- Letâs be clear. Itâs a small device which sprays water, and pushes a micro fibre cloth around, mimicking the three way action of a human mopping. If you want a good clean, you will need to spray some cleaning product on the floor before you set it off. But you can get good results using just water.- This braava jet is much smaller than the roomba: it can get into all sorts of confined areas where you might struggle to reach with an ordinary human powered mop. You can use it in the smallest en suite or in quite large areas.- If you use it on a large area, for best results you can split the task in two, using the âvirtual wallâ mode.- It DOES work with the iRobot app, if only at a very basic level. You can get access to help information, and a handy âspot cleanâ function which I donât think is accessible from the robot alone.- It is worth investing in iRobot washable pads. They are more thorough in action.- Tip: to start with I couldnât get the water to go in. It should take about 150ml. If that happens to you, tip the device up, as shown in the instructions, and touch the filter with your finger to get the flow going. To sum up: the device is much more fun than mopping the floor yourself, saves you some time, and takes no effort. Whatâs not to like.

**UPDATE: Good But.. Only for Very Select Reasons & **Some Useful Tips*
A good little machine. Some would say I'm a perfectionist when it comes to a clean home.TIPS:Some useful pointers will really help to make this unit, both more effective in its use and cost effective:You 'cannot' add cleaning agents into the machine as the people at iRobot say it can damage the internal components. No person in their right mind would clean a bacteria-laden floor with just water so here's what I do:The machine takes about an hour and a half to do my kitchen floor. I set him up in the corner and then spray the kitchen floor with my cleaning spray of choice without any extra water - it happens to be an environmentally friendly one at the moment, though I use a selection including Dettol, Zoflora and sometimes bleach, as we have a rescue cat who came to us with various ailments and needs that extra care. But that's a whole other story.I then enjoy a cup of tea, put my feet up and watch the little mechanical man do the hard work.It doesn't matter if what you sprayed on the floor dries before iRobot can get to it. The cleaning agent is still there - with a little spritz from iRobot it still polishes up my tiles nicely.âŞď¸ Don't wet the cleaning pad prior to use. You'll soak your floor.âŞď¸ He does have a tendency to miss small sections when there's an obstacle nearby, as he backs away. But as I watched him, I noticed he does a complete circuit of the room at the end of his cycle and goes over the areas he's missed.âŞď¸ If he's picked up, moved or gets trapped with the wheels spinning, you'll find he get's a little lost and will find a new 'home' when his cycle has ended. Not a big issue but more of a forewarning.âŞď¸ **You can re-use the disposable pads at least 5+ times. It's a lot more cost effective and environmentally conscious. I wish the people at iRobot suggested this too. Or made them a little more hardwearing. I hate to needlessly waste resources.I just give the pads a soak and squeeze under warm soapy water, being careful not to crush the stitched in cardboard bracket that slots into iRobot and then allowing them to dry thoroughly. The little guy can be stored on its side, sitting on the battery housing. Very convenient if you want to tuck him away.I recharge the removable battery in the mains (takes two hours), ready for his next use and slot it back into the robot during storage.âŞď¸ The Bottom Line:Though it's a very useful little machine to have around the home. It's nowhere near as good as good old fashioned elbow grease. It does not differentiate between stains and so will not spend any longer on one area over another. You must vacuum the floor before use and mop up any spillages, otherwise this little gut will slosh your mess about across the entire floor. Thus it's great for a standard-nonspecific-daily clean, but not for any other reason. Its definitely not suited for a stained, dirty floor. It's just not powerful enough. It suits us fine as a daily cleaner on an already clean floor. Just to sanitise the kitchen of harmful bacteria as a result of owning a cat.âŞď¸Update:After running this little gadget half a dozen times. I've come to realise that its functionality is what's best described as sporadic. It spends a long time doing my kitchen (approx 90 minutes), but it keeps going over vast swathes of the same area and occasionally over others. I'm not quite sure why this is.Sometimes I do find that the floor hasn't been adequately sprayed enough, even though I'm using the wettest scrubbing pads fresh out of the packet.âŞď¸**2nd Update:**After finding the disposable pads increasingly frustrating, I bit the bullet and bought a pair of iRobot washable blue pads. These are IMMEASURABLY better. Not only do they clean the floor more deeply, but they also have little spikey filaments dotted about the cloth which gently scrubs, getting into the grout for a more obviously shiny tiled floor.Best of all they're washable and have a plastic bracket which makes them cost effective and more environmentally conscious over the longterm.iRobot should provide their machines with these washable cloths as the difference in mopping is worlds apart. It could make the difference for some, in liking their iRobot and hating it.Perhaps the newer model has addressed some of these little niggles....though that remains to be seen.4 Stars.

Best home-cleaning tool ever, saves so much time!
Restless little helper, my best friend and partner in home-cleaning - you name it, I am absolutely in love with the little guy!I havenât considered more expensive options, but Braava 240 is a good investment and provides benefits immediately.I have a 4-bed 3-storey semi with two young kids (1 & 4 years old), three adults and a cat. Now I can easily mop the entire house twice a week with no hassle (clap your hands)!Ok, now to practical points. The Braava jet is quite easy to operate. It takes only a couple of minutes to set it up and off you go! If Braava is doing a big room (playroom or kitchen with living) I would recharge it before setting on a new task. For small rooms it can handle a few of them at one go (small bedrooms or bathrooms). The hack Iâve been using while filling the water tank - close it when it is still tilted, this will save on unnecessary water spills.Another hack is for air-drying the water tank: empty the contents of the tank, move the closing rubber to the side, turn the robot upside down and place it on a flat surface with wheels up (use the handle to support the body of the robot). As suggested in other reviews, every now and then I will spray the floor with a multi-purpose spray and then mop it with the robot. No need to spray every time though especially if youâre mopping in a regular basis.I have ordered original mopping pads and donât use any of the half-wet / dry ones.It is not necessary to vacuum before mopping if the cleaning is done regularly, but in some areas (hallway, dining area) I prefer to vacuum first. Two things I would recommend to manufacturer:â include a measuring cup so you know exactly how much water to add,â Include original reusable pads in the pack (or at least provide an option to purchase robot with additional accessories).Braava Jet indeed is such an amazing helper who saves me hours to actually spend time worth my family!

Too expensive for what it does
The gadget is ok to clean a small room (eg bathroom). I have tried in bigger areas but at the end I felt unsure about how clean the floor actually was. Itâs a brilliant piece of technology, but totally unnecessary WAY too expensive. I would not buy it twice
