This is a product that requires special handling. I’ve been using DMSO together with castor oil, blending about 30% DMSO with 70% castor oil, and it has worked really well for topical applications. The castor oil keeps the skin nourished and prevents dryness, while the DMSO helps carry it deeper. This combination absorbs nicely, and leaves my skin feeling calm without irritation. Be sure you clean your skin well using a glycerin soap with no fragrance or other additives. DMSO carries everything into the body. It also passes the blood brain barrier. Sometimes it will feel a little tingly. I also appreciate that this DMSO is in a glass bottle. A little goes a long way, and it has become a staple for me.

No smell at all! i rub this on my bum knee, then hydrocortisone cream, and it totally keeps the inflammation down. Great for knocking down nocturnal leg cramps too.

It smells like pure DMSO and works like pure DMSO so what more can one say? The cost per oz is good and I would have given it 5 stars but for one thing. It's the bottle cap. Yep, you read right, the cap. Why you ask? I'm glad you asked, you see the bottle comes with a plug in the mouth that has a rim so as to make it leak proof in transit. So that's a good thing, right? It is a good thing until you open the bottle for use and throw away the shipping plug. Then to your dismay, you find a wet ring where the bottle sat. Another time you pick up the bottle and it will be wet on the outside. That's when you look in the cap and realize there is no seal in the cap. Then your heart sinks as you realize that you threw away the shipping plug which was the ONLY seal for the cap! So enjoy a great product for a good price, BUT DON'T THROW AWAY THE SHIPPING PLUG! 😁

Very disappointed

Came well packaged and it is a nice amount for the price. I do decant into a smaller bottle for everyday use, and this 16.9 oz bottle can stay in storage. I am just starting to use DMSO so don't know about the effectiveness of this brand yet. It does cause the warmth and slight burning on the skin for some people, so I know it is active. Having said that, I want to mention my issue with the way they designed the bottle ,which is why I make this a 2 star review. It comes with the blue bottle screw on cap which is sealed, you twist off to break the seal. Then you'll see a white plastic plug in the opening of the bottle. There is no easy way to get that out, you have to jamb something under the lip of the plastic plug and wiggle it out. Mine started to rip as I pulled off the white plastic, so I tried another side so I was able to pull it off intact without having it drop inside the bottle. I noticed that there is no liner inside the blue screw cap, so I tried flipping the bottle upside down quickly and nothing leaked, but once I put it upright and let it sit for a while, I noticed that dmso liqud was dripping all over the bottle. So you have to make sure to keep that white plastic plug intact and plug it back up when you keep it in storage, or IT WILL LEAK IF IT TIPS OVER. But like I said, the white plastic plug is not strong and will rip. This is a very bad design in the bottle. The manufacturer needs to fix this. There is no mention of keeping the white plug intact and putting it back on the bottle. This is a significant oversight on the part of the manufacturer. This must be fixed, or the DMSO will have leaked out (does dmso evaporate?) when you go pull it out of storage.
