Sadly the kit did not show up, only the grinder.Edit: I decided to order again and received the correct product. Very well-made, works well in our camper, we love to travel and visit the local coffee roasters so we need a quality grinder and pour over. Perfect for the minimalist coffee lover.

LOVER in caps. Nothing fascinates me more or captures my imagination and desire for excellence like this set does.Is it expensive? Sure it is.Have you ever seen, handled or experienced anything like it? Highly unlikely.The designers, engineers & manufacturing craft persons are speaking to a very particular group with this awesome set....I can hear their whispering in my ear...This is the top of the top when it comes to the outright idolization of the coffee bean - each component of this set is a true reflection of that attitude and train of thought that certain ones of us in this world are tuned into.Firstly, opening the box. I'm not sure whether I felt like I was receiving a gift or a package meant for a spy or a diplomat. The presentation is striking. I still have the same experience each time I open the case to access the components.Some people take this set differently than I do, even the manufacturer shows their presentation video of two fellows making coffee before they embark on what I would guess to an outing of hunting/fishing. That's a cool way way to show this product.I use this set (in my office) in a fashion of heating the water in an erlenmeyer flask over an alcohol flame, grinding the coffee while I shoot small talk with my visitor. Of course a good cup of coffee follows...Anyway...the double walled construction is beautiful and seamless...and it's even been done on the filter holder/pour over funnel. That liquid will not be losing it's heat very easily, you know?O-ring seals on everything, every part! These drinking cups are airtight and liquid tight when assembled correctly. Everything fits as perfectly as it looks.The grinder, although not a complicated piece of equipment, is made with beautiful precision and craftsmanship. I can disassemble this thing down to the individual component (see photos) to clean it. Needless to say, the adjustment for the coarseness or fineness of grind is infinite. The adjustment plate is spring loaded so that your setting of preference is maintained until you change it.The density of the stainless steel mesh filter has been carefully chosen to allow for a proper steeping delay as the water envelops the ground coffee beans and passes through into the reciever (cup) below. It's like poetry in motion.Being constituted of stainless steel, cleaning is not a problem.There's even a grey flannel carry/storage pouch for safe transportation & protection of said coffee grinder.Everything in this set assembles together in a very compact manner for easy stowage & handling. I'll be keeping mine in the cool looking box it comes in - because it doesn't feel right to toss this set around. I'm just a little fond of it, if you can't tell.So do your own thinking and come to your own conclusions. I think this set is really the ultimate gift for anyone who loves coffee and is maybe involved in design work or possibly just an eccentric - or both - like myself. Those who appreciate nice things will understand.I tip my hat to those folks at VSSL...you've made a really strong impression. Two thumbs up!

If you want to make pour over coffee, you really just need to steep grinds in water, and then separate the two. This device has coffee filters to allow the coffee, and not the grinds, to pass through to the cups.This device does that, and is cool and sleek stainless steel. I like the two cup design. But oh my, why is this so expensive? I knocked off a star for that.I would view this as a luxury item for the wealthy camper in your life who has anything. It comes in a nice box, with a matte finish magazine with scenic photos. I found the grinder a little tedious. I would rather grind at home and then bring my pre-ground coffee.
