This drive has a USB A and USB C connection, Each is protected by caps, so that you can safely transport this when travelling.The USB fingerprint security is a really neat and fairly unusual feature for a USB drive. It, of course, means that this drive is far more secure than most. However, there is a good amount of setup and maintenance required to use this. You'll need to install software and the reader isn't perfect, so it often takes a good amount of tries to get it to accept you. Certainly, don't expect this to offer the kind of seamless fingerprint setup/usage phones of even 3-5 years ago offered.If the added security is worth the extra setup/time, then it does work. The drive itself is of very high quality, it feels sturdy and droppable, and it's very portable and convenient. For me, 128gb is plenty of space to keep my most secure documents and I've been pleased with how this has performed in terms of read/write for my smaller files.

Although not inexpensive for the capacity it provides, this USB stick does come with the benefit/novelty of fingerprint encryption. The area for this is quite small, but persist and it does indeed work! 5 years aftersales service is offered; whether that means you can discuss any issue with the manufacturer, or if it just means if it fails in five years you can get a replacement or refund I don't know as I haven't had an issue that would require me getting in touch with them yet, thankfully. But as long as you buy from Amazon I'm sure they would honour the guarantee. I've had no reliability problems with any of the Fanxiang products I've tried so far but I've been using them for weeks/months not years, so I can't speak to longevity. If a little cheaper, I'd add a star!

The flash drive is metal with caps protecting both USB and USB-C plugs. The encryption supports Windows, Mac, and Android. Once set up to the software it is easy enough to encrypt to the drive, and set up a password and fingerprint.The speed of the drive is good, although I didn't get up to 550MB.The fingerprint scanner that is built into the device is a great security protection. I thought it was going to be problematic at first, as the fingerprint detection is so small, but eventually I managed to do it.It has features such as movies stored can be viewed through the phone, which is great for long, boring journeys. Also, photos and videos can be directedly stored in the flash-drive.The instructions are not very clear, but apart from that, I find this device pretty good.

i received this product, and i put it first on my imac then tried on phone it told me to re-format after i put a few films from my mac to watch on my phone - did not work - reformated did it again and it told me to re-format on my partners android.I assumed for the price it would work, also did not work when cut my hand - it did not run at 550mb neither and the capicity on my drive says 32gb not the 128gb statedsorry i do not recomend this product.

I was really disappointed with this item. The casing is made of metal but on mine the hinged cover over the USB 'C' connector is very loose. The instructions are minimal and poorly translated into English. I liked the password controlled user interface which means that although Windows Explorer will open the drive, it will not show any of your files until you have input the password. What a good idea! To the casual observer the drive appears empty. This is a very good feature and one which anyone working remotely or on public transport will love.HOWEVER The fingerprint detection system was impossible to use. My device may, of course, be faulty but the stick got quite hot while it was scanning my fingerprint and it was unable to store any of my fingerprints - this making my stick as password-only device. I am an IT Professional but could not get the fingerprint recognition system to work.The software is clunky at best, and badly translated into English both in manual and on-screen form. If this were improved and if the fingerprint recognition were reliable I would give it fours stars, docking just one for build quality. Sadly I shall not be using this device in future.

Snazzy little storage unit, useful for adding/retrieving images from phone via usbc and then transfer to a laptop. Decent sized storage and i love the protective lid to protect the plugs. Haven't quite mastered the fingerprint thing yet

So the thumb drive has two connectors, a USB-A and a USB-C. However hard I tried, I could not get my PC to recognise the drive when I plugged it into a USB-A port. Did not show up in device manager or disk management. Check the port with another USB-A drive, and it was fine. Next checked the USB-C ports on my PC and same thing again nothing happens. I then plugged it into my Android phone and it worked. So dont buy this stick for windows, as i could not get it to work.
