Beautifully Coloured and Glazed Bird Bath

I've had this bird bath nearly a year. We've just gone through -5 degree frosts where I live and several ceramic and terracotta pots have split or shattered, but not this one! It is frost resistant. But the best thing about it is that it is perfect for ALL birds. They are all able to use it, whatever their size, because of the stepped surface and they seem to be much more at ease and feel safe, standing where they wish. It is big enough for a pigeon to have a wallow and a blackbird to splash about, or a party of sparrows. Several birds drink from it at a time and it is visited by many birds every day. I wanted one that complimented the garden's natural colours, without being brash, and this fits the bill (pun intended) while also having a beautiful range of colours and glazes. It is easy to lift off the feet to wash and re-fill.

I have to admit I had missed the bit that said these items were seconds until after I had ordered so was a little worried, however when it arrived (very well packaged) it looks stunning, very classy, with gorgeous green glazing and an inscription around the rim, and i would struggle to tell you why it's a second. More importantly the user survey! From the minute i put it out the birds have used it, i opted for ground standing as my garden is very uneven. There are ridges around the sides so the birds dont slip in, i have put a slightly larger pebble to one side as for the smaller birds as it is quite deep at the centre if you fill it fully, however the blackbirds, thrushes and starlings dive straight in the middle and have a good old bath and the smaller birds stand off to the sides and splash about. It is not the biggest bath as some reviews stated, but I ordered knowing its size as that's what I wanted.

Initially the birds didn't use it in the area of the garden I first placed it. I moved it once and on the second day they were all over it! Had about eight sparrows fighting over it at one stage - especially in the heat wave of last week!! I guess you have to be patient for them to find it and get used to where its been placed. They come for a splash and some to drink. I really love how its been made, the green colour is beautiful. Have not yet decided if I want the stand or not. Very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend.

I was really worried when I bought this for my mother as the birds didn't use it. We moved it a few times. We tried putting a stone in in case they were afraid of slipping or something (helpful comments from her friends that it was too slippery for the birds). But after about 3 weeks they have finally accepted it and use it all the time. Some come for a splash and some to drink. As the summer gets drier (hopefully) I think they'll increase their use. It looks so lovely that to be honest I wouldn't have minded too much if they hadn't used it. It's a real feature in the garden. Beautifully made, subtle colour, a real quality item. I bought the matching stand for it as well. Very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend.

My other bird features are green metal. This nicely designed bird bath compliments those very well... a good looking feature, have mine on the pathway using the three stands provided, not far from feeder. Been supplying more water to birds in garden as they appreciate this for bathing drinking. Especially in the dry months. It's lovely to provide this service to the birds, which, are in decline needing all the help they can get.

This is a great bird bath. The reason it looks small in the photo is that the wood pigeon is so big, especially when he's all fluffed up! I like that it's glazed except for the edges, making it easier for birds to grip onto it. It's got a good weight to it but I didn't put the feet on, as I was afraid the bath would get tipped up by the larger birds and other animals. The wood pigeons like to take flight from the edge and the bath just wobbles a bit when they do this.

I was not sure about this bird bath when I ordered it. It arrived quickly very well packed. In fact extremely well packed. It is solid, heavy, well made, a good size. The birds are a bit wary so far, as they were used to the old one. I am sure they will get used to it. A good buy.

Beautiful bird bath, as described. The first one we had delivered had several very noticeable cracks in it. Great customer service though and i had a replacement bowl delivered to me within 2 days and its perfect!
