Empire581-9 9-Inch Dark Blue Aluminum-Sided Dark Blue Torpedo Level with Overhead Viewing Slot

I bought this because I thought I lost my first empire level. Turns out it was under my Jeep seat. That being said, my first empire level was handed down to me. Thing has been through hell and never skipped a beat or lost magnetization. These levels are extremely rugged and perfect for Mitsubishi indoor unit backing plates. I used my old level everyday for 3 years. After finding my old one, I in turn handed it down to another up and coming technician. The beauty of these are that they are accurate, sleek, cheap and provide years of reliability. I don’t carry any other levels than these in my tool bag. Take it from a licensed Maine limited electrician, HVAC/R project manger/service technician, you will not be let down by the quality of this tool.

I bought this for a gift. It is from a long time maker of levels. It looked to be made well. I would say it will last a lifetime, or at least that is what I am hoping. I have a couple of levels of my dad's which are older than me and I have bought a couple myself. I have never broken one of mine nor I have i had one fail in oven 50 years. Treat your tools will respect and they will outlast you-

This torpedo level is Made in the USA, but only the top and bottom strips are aluminum. The main body is made of plastic. I bought this mainly for the magnetic strip to use for aligning golf club shafts. One side is magnetic (which isn't the strongest, but it works) and the other side is non-magnetic but has a channel that is useful for round objects such as tubing/piping/shafts.Overall: 5/5 stars, inexpensive, easy to use, but not completely aluminum and has a rather weak magnet.

Bought it for my husband he loves it small enough for the smaller projects

Purchased for a Christmas gift, was surprised that it came delivered just as shown. What I mean by that, it was not in any kind of retail packaging. It was just a loose tool as pictured. My first thought was that it was a used or return item. It appears to be unused.. The product is fine just, not what I expected to present to someone as a present
