Ridiculously awesome! (NOT ANYMORE)
Who would write a review for Garden Staples? Because these are AWESOME! I used the ones that came with my weed barrier, and they were so flimsy they bent putting them into soft soil. Now these babies are GREAT! I hammed them through a gravel substrate and only had issues once when it didn't pound into a solid piece of rock (maybe the next version will have this capability?)I say buy theses! as for the comment about 6 inch vs 4 inch, I have used both and these are more than capable of maintaining a secure hold.UPDATE: BE CAREFUL!!! I re-ordered these same exact staples and they are now shipping a thinner, weaker product for a higher price. I would NOT buy these anymore. I ordered directly from amazon and another seller, and both have changed the product they are shipping under the prior HIGH quality listing. All reviews before June 1st MAY be related to the OLDER product.Alternative that worked great: These are a 9 gauge extra heavy staple that went in to the ground, and didn't act like butter on a hot day. 100 Extra Heavy Duty Galvanized Anti-Rust Garden Landscape Staples Stakes Pins - Made in USA - Strong Pro Quality. Only 4"
These are only 4" long, not enough to hold much of anything. Don't bother with these.I am annoyed that nowhere in the description do they state that the size of the pins, so I am uploading a photo of one next to a ruler, hoping to prevent others from making the same mistake.UPDATE: Within a few days they started rusting too. I was going to try to use these for other simple things - no more.

Rusted in less than a week, but sturdy
Used these to hold down bird netting around a baby fig tree.I’d mistakenly expected stainless steel, but they’re just steel — completely rusted after only one week in the ground. I just pulled them out after harvesting the last of the two figs that the critters left me before I put the bird net up, and took the attached photos after scrubbing with soap. They’re thick/sturdy and long enough to hold a bird net down securely, but might not be the best to use in edible gardens (unless you want the rust seeping into your fruits and veggies through the soil).

Don't expect to get a box of staples -- expect a plastic bag.
The staples I received came in a plastic bag, not a box -- so the image in this ad is a little misleading as to what it is you're ordering; not that that necessarily changes the quality of the goods, but it certainly makes you wonder about the ethics of the re-seller.The plastic bag is probably friendly on the environment than the box (less material, less energy in shipping) -- so I'm not really complaining that I didn't get a box -- I'm simply pointing out the ad is misleading. The staples are about the same quality as what came with the landscape fabric I purchased from a local warehouse club, except they're bent into the shape of a staple rather than being simply curved around -- both styles are functional, but the staple shape is a little easier to use if you need to "hammer" them into the ground (which I don't -- at least not generally).

If You Take Pride In Your Landscaping, You Probably Won't Like These Garden Staples
This product is an insult to any serious gardeners who want to use "commercial" grade materials to finish their landscaping. These staples are thin and weak, bending on contact with anything in the soil. They are too short to fasten your fabric in the dirt, and mine began to rust after the first rain.Fortunately I only needed these to hold my fabric down in the wind until I could shovel the river rock on top of it. Once the rock is on the cloth you don't have to depend on the staples.A convenient way to make your own staples into whatever length you need is to play "MOMMIE DEAREST" and use those old wire hangars you have 'hanging' around the house. The thinner white ones you get when your clothes are returned from the dry cleaners are thick enough to work and are powder coated also. Just use wire cutters or tin snips to cut to desired length and then bend the top over with a pliers to form an "L" shape. The older wire hangars work also but are thicker and a little harder to work with. But the best thing, other than doing a much better job than the Easy Gardeners, is that they're free.

Works but start rusting overnight
Works but durability (longevity) is in question as they start rusting from day one. I left a bunch of staples outside to use the very next day. They already rusted overnight. I also purchased Ashman staples (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AIPF8PS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). They don't rust and they are cheaper. I recommend you to use those.

Fabulous!!
Admittedly I didn't buy these to stake down garden cloth, I bought these to hold down my outdoor Christmas decorations. I used them to stake down my lighted polar bears, outdoor lighted tree and to make a light "river" in the yard. Two days after I got my Christmas decorations put out we had a 50 mph wind storm (gotta love west Texas). My yard decorations did not move at all!!! Not one bit!!Love these "garden staples"!!! Now that I've discovered that they exist and now that I've "field tested them" I plan to always use them at Christmas and I plan to add a box to our camping gear for tarps and extra tent stakes!!! These are a must have item!!

Heavy Duty Staples
We purchased this product to use in our garden. We prefer to put down ground cloth between each row to reduce weeding and increase warmth of garden. These staples are great for keeping the ground cloth secure. Our only concern was that both boxes were slightly open upon arrival. We took the time to count each staple and to our surprise non were missing, we actually had a few extra.
