I bought as Christmas gift part of for parents. Yes it keeps the squirrels off the feeder and the expensive bird food. Also keeps other heavy big birds off, pigeons. Birds generally happy within days of putting up, happy to feed and multi feeding points. Anything big and heavy heavy lands on feeder tgd weighted balance pulls down and shuts off the feeder tube, so nothing can feed till heavy bird squirrel moves off. We have seen this work in action, with squirrels and pigeons but nothing else, all other birds that visit feeder are considerably lighter smaller. The squirrels are persistent here as have pine trees in garden, made their home here and visit feeder and garden general to eat all than is provided and anything they choose from the garden. They have previously eaten through bird feeders, where as this one looks sturdy I believe is sturdy and just might last the test of time......... We will have to wait for that one. But it looking hopefully already, good big sized feeder so doesn't need filling so quickly or you could put whatever amount you like in it. I was surprise how big it was, but pleased when arrived fast delivery. Easy put together seconds more than minutes. Price was a little considered, but I was keen to buy a real anti squirrel kind and I had seen this style in action somewhere somehow, and was keen to spot online. Shopping is online only for me due to mobility issues. I pondered at the price, then thought it was OK if it worked and could go back if it doesn't that was my thinking. Also as a gift took the edge out of the price. I ordered one, not two just to wait see and test out (Parents Garden squirrels) and would then buy second one if all went well. All has gone well, very please Mum Dad delighted, it is good and easy to watch various birds visit and feed from it, as it is a sturty station and of good size, several birds will feed at the same time and others will be waiting to feed. There are other feeders close by but this is more of a hit. Yes would recommend, certainly worth a good try, or if you need a good larger feeder. I very happy, definatley buy again. No problems. Good value for money, gives the food protection from squirrels and heavy big birds that forget others might want some food!! Sturdy I am sure so far, though not dropped onto ground, grass. Been through a mixture of weather and intact, heavy winds, rain plenty of, two days snow not much heat as only been up since Christmas day 2025. Hope that helps you decided, all the best.

Really good sturdy quality. The little birds love it and it needs lots of refilling. Only 2 things the screws to fix the bottom on are tiny and you have to be careful you fit the lid on securely but I would and may buy again. Starlings haven’t been able to use it.

Simple enough to put together - 6 screws, though they're a bit tight. I suspected we had 3 or 4 squirrels eating the sunflower hearts, don't mind 1 or 2, but there were just too many, and the birds were put off. Sure enough, we have had a succession of squirrels viewing this feeder from a number of different angles! One returned, made a determned effort, ending up on the perch. Mechanism closed effectively & kept him out! The birds have started to return, they are able to reach the seed ok, and seem happy (feeder paperwork promises Blue Jays, Chickadees, etc!! No sign yet [UK!!]). 4 Stars because: a) the umbrella bit above feeding holes could be bigger to ensure rain is kept off the seed; b) It's plastic. For the price, and longevity, aluminium would be preferable.

Squirrels and birds stay away from it. The bird food doesn't flow freely to the holes. The rain gets in and everything rots.

Firstly this is a good bird feeder, it is easy to clean and reasonable sturdy . . . But mine keeps collapsing - I can’t secure it - it Mose with the birds on it the lugs come out and it collapses . . . However I would buy again.

Really pleased with this bird feeder good quality, my birds will be truly well fed at this feed station. Good price and very large.

It’s a good feeder you can get loads in it but the pigeons and magpies and squirrel still feed of this and it doesn’t close which is annoying, the whole reason I bought this was to stop the large birds and squirrels feeding off it but it hasn’t deterred them at all and they feed away on it all day,

I bought this for my elderly neighbour for Christmas as she loves to feed the birds but was fed up with the squirrels stealing the food . She is absolutely over the moon with it as not only has it stopped the squirrels , but with it being a large feeder, she doesn`t have to fill it up every day . Every morning she rings me up and gives me a running commentary on how many birds are feeding . The squirrels still visit her garden every day , but they now sit on the ground waiting for any seed to fall . She said it`s literally perfect , the best present she`s ever had .

Mechanism is faulty. Feeder ports lock into a closed position. So, not only is it squirrel-proof, it's bird-proof too as they can't access the food. Threw it out after a week of this nonsense.
