Crafted from durable, polished glass, it converges light effectively for clear, repeatable optics experiments. Ideal for classrooms and labs, it supports diverse applications from projectors to physics demos, combining reliability with hands-on learning. ## Description The Eisco Round Double Convex Lens is a vital tool for those engaged in physics demonstrations and educational experiments. This lens, measuring approximately 2" in diameter and 15mm thick, is crafted from spherical optically worked glass with highly polished, ground edges. It is specifically designed for educational use, setting it apart from general-purpose lenses. This makes it a reliable choice for educators, students, and hobbyists who are looking to explore the principles of optics. During the cooler months, when indoor learning is more common, this lens facilitates a deeper understanding of light behavior. Its double-convex design is effective at converging light, which is crucial for basic optics experiments. Unlike flat or concave lenses, this lens provides a clear and focused convergence of light, making it suitable for demonstrating fundamental optical principles. A key feature of this lens is its defined 50mm focal length. This specification ensures repeatable and reliable setups, providing a known starting point for accurate experimentation. This predictability is especially beneficial for those conducting systematic studies of light. While the lens may present minor cosmetic imperfections, these do not compromise its optical purity or function, allowing users to prioritize educational outcomes over aesthetic perfection. This functional resilience supports continuous exploration and discovery in various settings, including labs, workshops, and home-based study environments. Whether used for a classroom project or a personal exploration in optics, the Eisco Round Double Convex Lens enhances understanding of the world of light and lenses, making it a significant addition to any educational toolkit. Review: Size is good - Good size Review: Good for reading, poor for fire making. - I bought this to make solar fire with. It magnifies well but is very poor compressing sun light into a small area. A wallet size fresnel lens beat it in testing. The thickness (quite thick) and the smaller wide are what make this a poor combination for solar fire. ## Features - Eisco Precision Lens: The Eisco double convex glass lens is crafted for educational use, supporting physics demonstrations and classroom experiments. Its round design and consistent build make it perfect for engaging science lessons and hands-on learning - Light-Converging Optics: This round double-convex glass lens is designed to converge light effectively, aiding in basic optics experiments. Unlike flat lenses, its curvature enables clear focus, enhancing classroom and lab activities - Defined Focal Length: With a precise 50mm focal length, this lens provides a reliable starting point for repeatable optics setups. Its consistent measurement supports accurate experiments, promoting a deeper understanding of light behavior - Functional Imperfections: Minor cosmetic imperfections are embraced in this classroom optics lens, without affecting its function. Prioritize educational outcomes over appearance, as each lens maintains high optical purity and performance - Versatile Lens Tool: Ideal for diverse applications, this lens can be used in projects ranging from projector setups to optics demonstrations. Its durable glass construction ensures longevity, making it a reliable choice for science enthusiasts ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 44 Reviews | ## Images ![Eisco Round Double Convex Glass Lens, Classroom Use, 2" 50mm Focal Length - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81H+U6BLDYL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Size is good *by D***T on August 21, 2025* Good size ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for reading, poor for fire making. *by J***. on August 28, 2019* I bought this to make solar fire with. It was packaged well--well enough that I can confidently say this damage did not happen in shipping. Did the person packing it up fail to see that it was damaged? Did the QC department miss it? Who knows, but this is not the quality of product depicted in the listing. Compare the actual edge to the edge of the product shown in the ad, and you'll see a huge difference. Additionally when doing this review, I looked at other reviews of the product. The add has a lot of five star ratings that have no reviews at all, so I'm questioning that as well. I have no idea if this is a good deal for a poor quality product or not, I just know the one I received was not good quality, the ad is misleading (deceptive perhaps), and the listing looks sketchy. ## Frequently Bought Together - EISCO Round Double Convex High Optical Purity Glass Lens - 2" (50mm) Diameter - 50mm Focal Length - 15mm Thick Approx. - EISCO 6pc Optical Lens Set, 2" (50mm) Diameter - 3 Double Convex Lens & 3 Double Concave Lens - 200mm, 300mm, 500mm Focal Lengths - Optically True Glass - Ground, Beveled Edges - EISCO Double Convex Lens, 200mm Focal Length, 3" (75mm) Diameter - Spherical, Optically Worked Glass Lens - Ground Edges, Polished - Great for Physics Classrooms --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.nl/products/67248789-eisco-round-double-convex-glass-lens-classroom-use-2-50mm](https://www.desertcart.nl/products/67248789-eisco-round-double-convex-glass-lens-classroom-use-2-50mm) --- *Product available on Desertcart Netherlands* *Store origin: NL* *Last updated: 2026-10-31*
