So cold!
We purchased this almost 3 years ago and it’s still works great. We were using it in a 1600 sq/ft home, most of the square footage being on the first floor where the ac unit was and it cooled the whole first floor, well over 350 sq/ft. We use it now in a 1700 sq/ft home and same thing. Still works like new. I love the ease of the remote control. We haven’t had any issues with leaking. It is a little loud I guess, but I like the white noise while sleeping so it doesn’t bother me. Unless you’re right up next to it, it really isn’t a bother.

great ac unit
Unit works great! easy to install! and is not lous and noisy! I live in south florida and have a hot bedroom the central ac was running alot cause a huge increase in my electricity bill. this unit has enough power to keep the room cold and uses less power than my central ac so it is very efficient

Great air conditioner with some minor annoyances
This TOSOT 8,000BTU air conditioner is a good, fairly quiet compact AC unit that puts out plenty of cold air.We bought two of these on sale last December and just started using them in the last month. They're reasonably quiet, and the "swing air" function works well to spread the cool air around (it doesn't hurt to have a small fan to circulate the air in the room, too). It'll cool a bedroom down in no time. When it's running the room stays cool, even with the bedroom door open to let the cool air spill out into the hallway. The only real downside is that the AC can't be fully controlled by the front panel buttons; you only get full control through the remote. If you start the AC through the front panel, some of the functions are locked out or unavailable and most of the settings can't be changed either. The manual explains all the various modes and restrictions when using the remote vs the front panel, but it's still odd. Fortunately the basic functions are available through the front panel so it's not a deal-breaker.The other annoyance is that when using the remote it always and I mean ALWAYS starts in "Energy Saving" mode, and the way it saves energy is by not cooling the air. I mean, it does sort of a little bit sometimes, but not much. Not really. What you actually want is to have it in the "Normal Cooling" mode where it blows out lots of wonderful cold air. Like duh, that's why we buy air conditioners.I get it, the manufacturer wants to start in the Energy Saving mode to help reduce costs and the overall energy demand. Like I say, I get it. But this is an AIR CONDITIONER, it comes with an known higher cost for our electricity bill. But regardless of the way most people use an AC, if you use the remote it always starts in Energy Saving Mode; you have to press the Function button 5 times in order to get to the Normal Cooling mode. It's annoying to have to cycle it through the various modes to get to the Normal Cooling mode when that's what you'll want 99.99% of the time. It's clumsy design in my opinion. In our real-world usage, however, we don't turn it on and off much, it just runs at whatever we set it at in the Normal Cooling mode. And it does cool very well, no question there. So overall, it's pretty good AC unit with a slightly weird remote control.

Superior Customer Service
I'm leaving this review specifically for the customer service aspect of this purchase. However -The AC itself works great! Easy to put the slides on, easy to install in the window, easy instructions. Has a nice sleek, and modern, look. I like that the vents close up completely when the unit is not in use. About a week in the remote stopped working. Not sure what happened, I changed the batteries out, but no dice. I reached out to customer service, not actually thinking I would even hear back from them (because I think we're all a bit used to lack luster customer service generally).I had a response to my email in about 12 hours. Not only did Mason, the customer service rep, immediately ask for my email- I had a tracking number for another remote ASAP. The remote arrived quickly and worked perfectly. To my surprise- Mason followed up again about a week later to make sure the remote solved the problem. I can't remember the last time customer service actually reached out again to double check that the problem had been resolved. I don't know why the remote broke, sometimes stuff just happens. I don't think that is a knock against the company. The AC works great and the customer support is superior.10 out of 10, will order from them again when the time comes.

very good product
This thing is very good. Things I likePros- cools well, reasonably quiet- there is a door that automatically covers the main vent closes when it shuts off- you can turn off the LED light to keep your bedroom dark- since it has auto-restart I can use my $10 wifi outlet controller to turn it on or off from anywhere using my smartphone- comes with good insulating foam strips and foam boardCons- so far the product itself has no cons at all. But its too bad you cannot phone in for support. All they have is online support, which is cumbersome. I sent in a question, the next day I got a reply but they had misunderstood the question so I had to rephrase it in a second email, and then they got back to me the day after that. A phone call would have taken 30 seconds.I bought this because it has the highest amazon rating among 10k btu air conditioners and though it only had 100 or so reviews, all those reviews were within that last six months so that was plenty for me. It deserves its high rating and I give it 5 stars.
