so easy to use....
The media could not be loaded. The best thing about this product is that it is so easy to use. Setting it up is as simple as cannecting a small rubber tube to base that has a bottle connected and to the base of the machine. Plug the incubator to the mains and that is all there is to setting this up. Obviously one needs to put water in the bottle as well.To incubate the eggs one simply removes the cover, places the eggs inside and then replaces the cover. The incubator heats up very quickly, within a couple of minutes and it is ready. The unit only uses less than 35wph so it uses than 1kWh per day. Over a three week period one will have used less than 21kWh to hatch up to 24 chicks. Therefore it costs less than 1kWh per chick or less than 50p. With the cost of feed one can produce one's own chickens for less than the price of those bought in butchers / supermarkets. Additionally, if one keeps the chickens for fresh eggs each day one will recover the cost of running this, per chick, within days of the chicken starting to lay. It also won't take long to recover the cost of purchasing this machine. If one plans to use chickens for fresh eggs, as well as for the meat and will incubate lore eggs then it is wise to kepp one rooster per every 10 to 20 hens. The odwnside is that keeping a rooster, in the UK, can be problematic as any comp-laints to environmental health regarding the cock crow at dawn is likely to attract a noise abatement notice and /or posecution. Depending on where one lives depends on wether a council will ignore complaints. Considering a town hall has been forced to stop it's clock from chiming every 15 minutes and only because of only one comp-laint in it's well over 100 years history shows how bad and how sad some councils can be. If you can't keep a rooster then you will have to purchase fertile aggs from a supplier. One of the best things about producing one's own chickens is that one known that the eggs are fresh every day, there has been no colourants injected into the eggs, the chickens have been raised without being fed growth hormones and the meat has not been contaminated with water to add weight. Chickens bought from the butcher / supermarket are commonly tampered with in some way or other so raising one's own means all eggs and all meat is 100% natural. The downside is that one will have to slaughter and pluck one's own birds but for the savings and the natural food one gets it is well worth it.I am recommending this incubator as it is good quality, it does heat up quickly, can have the internal temperature and humidity easily controlled thus it is good value for what it can deliver.

Unreliable
This item was only semi automatic for turning the eggs, the water bottle is difficult to attach without spillage! But otherwise going fine until day 16 when it stopped turning! We are at a crucial stage so having to manually turn the eggs 3-5 times a day until we are at hatching stage! It’s the first time we have used this machine and the company are out of stock so can’t replace part but organised a full refund which was good. Let’s hope we have some live chicks!
