There is a small, white ceramic hand. I guess it is meant so that one might rest the ocarina there for display purposes. Unfortunately, it is really, really fiddly to try to position the ocarina on the hands so that the whole thing won’t tip over. It was just too risky with the ceramic ocarina to use it.The kit comes with a very crinkly-sounding black padded bag with a Velcro closure. It is moderately protective for the ocarina and I think I will use it for normal storage.The ocarina itself is pretty, well-balanced and the holes are smooth to the touch. I am *not* an ocarina expert but I have some years of experience playing Native American style flutes (this experience has helped me develop decent breath control). As far as I can tell, this ocarina has good intonation and very nice tuning (of course, as with most flutes, it is possible to bend notes sharp or flat using breath control).It will take me time to learn the fingerings. They include a small booklet in the kit with four songs and a simple scale to show the fingerings. The hole diagrams are fairly tiny but I’m sure this will be workable.

This is a cool toy/instrument. The sound is similar to a recorder. I'm giving 4 stars because the stand that it comes with doesn't do a great job of holding it. It falls off easily and worries me that it'll break, so I don't use the stand.
