This is the International Baccalaureate (IB) through the research lens of more than 200 academic reference citations followed by deep student voice interviews with five former students who were considered “gifted” and who moved on to university, and the work place. This book is complex and thorough requiring a great deal of focus. This is not the IB through the eyes of the IB. This is an in-depth read of the actuality of the IB without interjection from IB teachers, staff, or state coordinators. The international IB organization did not review, or approve this book in advance. On the other hand, this is not an attack on the IB. This is an unvarnished research look at how its learning mandate fits the culture of its students and stakeholders going forward. It also suggests areas of possible change. This book is how it really is from those who experienced the IB as gifted children.
